Oh man this hurricane has been scary. I am glad to hear all you farmgirls are safe and can start moving back. Hopefully there isn't too much damage and repairs.
CJ, hopefully you can hear from marjean soon. I hope she is ok.

We live in central Florida, but were told that is was going to get nasty here. All the schools closed, as well as the theme parks, court houses, etc. We decided to leave and went to the middle part of Georgia. Came back home yesterday, and were told that we only had winds, but nothing extreme. Better safe than sorry. Most gas stations on the way back were out of gas, good thing we filled up before we left Georgia. All is well here.

Yes! Thank God you're safe girls!

My parents were in Ocean City, Maryland this weekend. Before they left, the news was reporting that the storm would probably veer off the coast and that the OC would only have light rain. Things apparently turned nasty there this morning, so they packed up and headed home. Last she checked with friends, my Mom was told that the rains were horrendous and there was quite a bit of flooding. I am SO thankful they came home and are safe and sound!

Has anyone heard what kind of weather they're expecting up north in New England???

Stay safe, girls!

Hugs -

Nini

Winnie,
So glad to hear from you and that you are safe. I thought about you and when I saw where Gainesville was on the map hoping you weren't getting the worst of it.
I have family in Charlotte, NC and they are getting lots of rain but not the awful stuff. Also a nephew and his family in Simpsonville, SC but I don't know how close it is to the area getting hit the hardest, nor how they are faring.

The devastation in Haiti is mind-boggling! Praying for all areas affected!

We were lucky here in Gainesville, Florida which is 2 hours inland from the Atlantic and southwest from Jacksonville. There were bands of heavy rains and some big periods of wind gusts, but we only ended up with minor trees limbs and lots of tree debris to clean up. We also did not lose power for which I am totally thankful!! Nothing worse than hot humid hurricane weather and no AC!! LOL!! We are all grateful that our location spared us the worst of this storm because it ripped up and caused severe damage to lots of our Florida coastal cities.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers!!
