Posted - Sep 09 2016 : 07:47:13 AM I Love children's Books. These are just a few of them. Most of the ones I have were mine when I was little. But I also have some that I have found here and there over the years. They are in my upstairs room. It seems like the pictures and the grade of paper was so much nicer then. This picture is from the desk in my living room.

Posted - Sep 10 2016 : 05:34:04 AM CJ and Peggy, what a shame! I learned the hard way about storing things like that in the garage and she'd too. Now everything that has to be stored goes into those plastic tubs and gets taped.

Posted - Sep 09 2016 : 12:59:47 PM Peggy, Your story reminded me of a sad loss for me. I had a LOT of my mother's piano music stored in our shed . . . no room in the house really. Well, I cleaned out the shed, discovered mice had gotten in there and COMPLETELY destroyed all of that music . . . had to put it in the trash. I still have some of her music in the house, but that just made me mad and cry, all at the same time. CJ

Posted - Sep 09 2016 : 11:48:46 AM Thanks for the Memories Nancy Jo. It reminded me that my Brother, Sister and I were given 3 Wizard of Oz books from a dear neighbor of ours even before we started school. Mom gave us each one of the Books to keep and I had mine until I was 43. And I discovered some Squirrels got into our boxed Books in the Garage and made nesting material of several Older Books. My 1902 Wizard of OZ Book was one of them. And I had an Original copy of Gullivers Travels and a signed Louisa May Alcott book...all three were destroyed by the Squirrels. I was so sad! But a valuable lesson learned...don't store keepsakes in your Garage...put them out and enjoy them.
Love and Hugs, Peggy

Posted - Sep 09 2016 : 08:03:45 AM Children's books are such fun! All the ones I had or we had for our kids were lost in our house fire in 1994. However, since then my hubby has gotten a few that he had as a child that were still in his parents home. (They are both gone now so everything is somewhere else) Love your books and your doll is adorable! CJ
