Well, I've been without a computer for quite awhile now, it fried in a storm, but yesterday I went to Best Buy and finally broke down and bought a new one. I'm still on the library computer today because I haven't gotten the internet yet. There's a free trial for AOL included so I'll download that later today. I can't get high speed where I live, so it will have to be through the phone line. Well anyway, I found an ad in the Sunday paper for a computer package that seemed pretty good, complete set with printer for $349. Well, I wanted the $50 upgrade so I can burn DVDs and well then the upgrade for the flat screen 17 inch monitor and then etc, etc, etc...well after all the upgrades, virus protection and everything else, my $349 package ended up costing me over $700! But I guess I can't complain, my first computer 8yrs ago cost $1400 and didn't have nearly what this has nor did it look so nice and take up as little space as this does. Oh, by the way, I was up till 4 a.m playing games! I'm tired!!!!!! Oh yeah, and on the way home with that, I had to stop and buy a new vacuum cleaner. It was an awfully expensive day.

Congrats, Jan. I know what you mean - our first computer cost about $1700 and now I've got a fab Mac laptop for about the same that does everything but feed the cats and cook dinner. Of course, I'm still learning but that's life.

I have been using a free internet service you may want to try out. It works pretty good, sometimes it takes a little bit to get connected but the connection is very good and stays conencted well.It is www.greatdialup.com

Glad you got a new PC, that is always fun!!
