Posted - Jan 08 2007 : 3:08:39 PM How lucky you are to have access to all these great treasures. Since I am way down in the pecking order of great grandchildren and grands so I'm sure I'll never see anything like you have. And as for the tea and cookies I am on my way. MB

Posted - Jan 08 2007 : 12:28:33 PM lINDY, Those were not hard at all. Just an iron on transfer and just stitch over it with embroidery thread, small stitches. There are lots of fancy stitches but to start out just basic up and down sewing works fine. And yes you can come over for cookies and tea. NANCY JO

Posted - Jan 08 2007 : 11:57:11 AM lINDY If you are talking about the ones that I just posted, they were made by my husband's aunt. That is why I said next to the picture-'"NOW THAT IS EMBROIDRY!" My work is no where near as good as theres. I love to embroider, but don't know if I will ever be that good. NANCY JO

Posted - Jan 08 2007 : 11:46:46 AM Nancy Jo, How do you make those lovely embroidered things so quickly? What is the stitch called that you use? Is that a dumb question? I would love to learn how to do that. Lindy

Posted - Jan 08 2007 : 11:15:46 AM I would say that she was a young Mother, by looking at some of the cards and the dates. She glued them down, so you can't see any writings that nay have been on the cards. The dates I can see are in the 1880's. NANCY JO

Posted - Jan 08 2007 : 11:00:19 AM Such sweet, beautiful images, Nancy Jo. Do you know if she was a young girl when she made that scrapbook? I have a tiny little book that my third cousin had when she was quite young. Inside, she pasted labels from cigars. They are colorful and some have images of famous people of the time.
