Posted - May 19 2016 : 02:44:47 AM Good morning
Last year I sold a sewing machine to a woman named Mary, and we've stayed in touch ever since. She lives about an hr from me. During our visit yesterday I explained to her about Mary Jane and showed her my collection of Mary Jane's books. She was very interested. I told her about the farmgirl connection too. Mary does embroidery and bead work. I don't know really anyone that shares my interests such as canning, sewing, soap making, gardening, prepping, etc. In fact I literally get strange comments from people sometimes like I'm the weird one- (deep inside I pity them because they don't get it). So it's exciting when I can share my interests and especially tell others about Mary Jane and all the amazing farmgirls here!
Hoping Mary will introduce herself soon

Posted - May 19 2016 : 12:31:46 PM Fortunately, for me, most of my friends around here do "get it". I was born and raised here on a farm. (Haven't always lived here . . .went to college, met my hubby and lived in a city for a few years, but came back) It is a rural farming/ranching community and it's nice to know most folks know and understand! Some of my favorite stores are the farm stores! CJ

Posted - May 19 2016 : 05:50:03 AM Wonderful story. Thank you for taking the time to share it. When I started all this I was pretty sure farmgirl was a language that was going extinct and I'd enjoy helping bring it back to life. I think of myself as conduit for all the electrifying things you describe in your post:) This morning I checked on my new baby chicks at 5 a.m. and felt complete. And this post makes me feel even more so. Thank you. And a hello to "Mary."

Posted - May 19 2016 : 04:39:56 AM Connie, I'll be looking for her around the Farm. I know what you mean about not being able to share with other women our love for all things FarmGirl. We can talk and share here among ourselves, and that's a very good thing.
