Posted - Jan 03 2007 : 12:45:08 PM I forgot to tell you all. We had 7 eggs today from our chickens. I took some pictures and wrote about it on my blog. You know, I don't think I could say that to just any group of people. Most folks would think I was a little crazy about having some little ol eggs. Glad you all are here to share the enjoyment. Lindy

Posted - Jan 03 2007 : 4:48:13 PM Lindy, I love your excitement over such a little thing. It's very sweet. I still have a photo of the first little brown eggs laid by our hens over 20 years ago! How sappy is that?! Congratulations on having LAYING hens! Rhonda

Posted - Jan 03 2007 : 4:34:54 PM That is neat. My Mom and my Dad's grandmother raised chickens when I was little. I remember holding the new little yellow chicks. How cute and soft they were. I used to love sitting on the porch and listening to the chickens. Mom would get brown eggs. Sometimes , they had double yokes in them too. pinkroses |

Posted - Jan 03 2007 : 3:38:33 PM Lindy,
I think it's wonderful. I can't wait until I can get my own hens and coop. For now, I visit the "girls" at my friend's house and feed them when she leaves town.

Posted - Jan 03 2007 : 1:20:16 PM LOL! That's great, especially this time of year! Up here, we'd have no eggs without lights and timers.
I remember when my first eggs came; I was so excited! Thanks for the memory. I sure miss my hens. |
