My hubby's daughter has a spare key and she's right across the street. Yep, the dining room curtains could use a washing; am I being stalked, ha? If so, I wish you'd straighten up the place a little while you're there! And look out! Maybe I'll be at YOUR place while you're at mine..... Nance

Nance,
Thanks, and where is the key hidden? I will water the plants while I'am there and maybe do a little dusting, and well those curtiains could maybe use a good wash,I promise nothing will be missing but the book, but don't look around to much to find out.

I was so disappointed that this movie didn't open before we left for France, so now I have to buy the DVD! Nancy Jo, there is a great book on her life with awesome photos.....it is in my living room so go on over and borrow it, ha! Really, it might be called The Life of Beatrix Potter, but I can't remember now; I've had it for at least ten years. Maybe your library would have a copy? Nance

I am going tomorrow to see Miss Potter at the ONLY theatre in the Atlanta area that is showing it!! I cannot wait! I'll let you know how it is.
Sad that such a cute movie like this is only on limited release and the dreadful movies are all over the place. :(

This is one I don't want to miss either! I love her art work and the stories and more than one child has been nicknamed Tiggy Wiggles or Puddleduck around here! My son first learned about camomile tea from poor Peter Rabbit and always asked for it when he didn't feel well!

As for Susan Wittig Albert...she is the author of Beatrix Potter's Cottage Tales, The China Bayles Series, and a bunch of other good reads. Check out www.mysterypartners.com if you want to find out more.

with a happy heart

I saw the previews last night at the theatre and it looks wonderful! I have always loved Peter Rabbit. I highly recommend the Susan Albert books about Beatrix Potter ~ they are just adorable and enjoyable for all ages. The newest one comes out in February. Speaking of movies ~ we saw The Holiday last night and it was so cute! The scenes in England were breathtaking!

IS there a book that this movie is based on? About her real life.

Oh boy! I can't wait.
Have any of you seen the DVD's that have the Beatrix Potter stories as well as a real life lady and children who play other characters? It is out in the car right now I will have to see who puts it out but Miriam Stockly sings a song called A Perfect Day on the DVD. Oh girls, this song is just lovely! Haunting is the sound of her voice.
You must hear it. She is from South Africa.

if you go to www.peterrabbit.co.uk/ then click on Miss Potter, it's a picture of Renee Zellweger who portrays her in the movie. The name of it is Miss Potter, it's about her life. You can see a really great trailer from there, it is wonderful!! Then you can click on many other threads about her & her art. I sent e-cards from there for Christmas & the rabbits move, its so cute. Have a great time on the site, I did.

YIPPEE!!! Thank you SO MUCH for posting this thread, Michele! We are headed back to France on the 9th, so I must see this film before we go. I, too, love Beatrix Potter and just bought a neat popup journal with little letters and pictures she drew....also a few things from a diary. Can't wait to get some popcorn and grab a seat! Happy New Year to everybody! Nance

I saw a 30 minute documentary on the film today on television. Renee Zellweger plays Beatrix. They showed several clips and it looks so victorian and lovely. It is a love story as well. The decor was to die for! Right away I said to my self, "Self you have to buy this DVD as soon as it is available to buy!"

Saw an article about this today looks very interesting. There are also three mysteries out there that are about her life........somewhat. Susan Whitting Albright wrote them.

Blessings,

I'm a big fan too Michele! Years ago I was fortunate enough to visit a museum where her original artwork was being displayed. It was wonderful!
What is coming out on the big screen? I haven't heard. A feature length movie?

I love Beatrice Potter too! A new line of fabric has come out with all the Beatrice Potter drawings. I plan to make a quilt from it! Maybe I will try and post it when it's complete.
