1. Finish my poetry I have been working on for far too long.

2. Of course, lose weight (yeah right).

3. Give more than I can afford.

4. Try to figure out the reason I was put on this earth.

5. Be more patient than I have been.

6. Learn when to speak and when to keep my mouth shut.

7. Most important of all, listen more to God when He speaks to me.

Blessed are those who love the soil,

Patsy

I admire everyone of you for making resolutions and keeping them. I use to make resolutions but I never could keep them.

My goal every year is to read the Bible through in one year. It's only about 5 pages a day. I do pretty good through January and then it's down hill from there. I'll try again this year.

A good diet is #2.

My goals:

1. Keep weight off! And going with this one is Walk walk walk (5 out of 7 days).

2. Spend more time on creating and less time reading crafty-gals' blogs!!

3. Follow Bramble's goals #23, 24, 25, 29, 30!

I don't consider them "Resolutions", I just make a big "TO DO" list of things I would like to see completed or accomplished in the next year. That makes it realistic and as they vary by degress of complexity I can pick and choose what I have time for. I have become a list person (it must be my advancing old age!) but it does help me get things done in a more timely manner and helps keep me on track.

2007 (so far!)

1. Make my family my first priority
2. Be more health conscious for everyone (grocery shopping)
3. See friends more regularly
4. Church (help more)
5. Sew more often
6. Say No more often! (I tend to take on too much!)
7. Volunteer at Soup Kitchen more regularly
8. Finish ugly quilt
9. Build more raised beds
10. Get greenhouse completed (salvaged window project)
11. Plant more trees
12. Plant more perrenials
13. Divide Iris and share with friends
14. Go to Washington,DC and visit Rachel
15. Get to Annapolis before Susan moves to AZ.
16. Finish giant embroidery sampler and put in frame FIL made
17. Take piano/ guitar lessons(I play both but...badly!)
18. Organize outdoor sheds and barn
19. Begin to weed out the clutter from what we really need
20. Re-start work on and complete my applique Lancaster Rose Quilt
(an eternal UFO at my house!)
21. Spend less time with people who make me angry, mad or unhappy
22. Find time to paint (I finally got my sketchbox easel!)
23. Choose NOT to always share what I am thinking!
24. Speak with kindness, affection and love.
25. Speak with intent not emotion.
26. Swim more( excellent for fibromyalgia/ arthritis).
27. Become a healthier me (lose weight, more excercise, better
nutrition).
28. Organize sewing room (might take days!)
29. Stay on top of chores so they don't become overwhelming!
30. Have more fun!

I'm sure there will be more, but that's a pretty good start for the year! Happy New Year everyone!

with a happy heart

I just don't make them anymore after so many years of breaking them!! But I do try very hard to start the new year in a positive, loving, giving full of heart way.

Hmmmm.... Good topic.

1. Get my young gelding finished for the showpen and get him SHOWN!!!

2. Geld my young stud and get him started.

3. Keep an organized list of what's for dinner, to shop for it appropriately and make sure I can keep things going so we can eat every meal really healthy.

4. Get my weight back down or I'll have to buy new show clothes!

5. Keep a lovely garden and add more flower beds.

6. Improve my management style so I can forsee things coming better, and provide for them.

7. Take more time to read something besides the computer every day.

I'm sure I'll think of more, but that's okay. I don't think so much of these things as resolutions as I do goals. I have lots of goals, and I sure intend to meet as many as I can!

Thanks for bringing this up, Patsy!

To work out even harder, go back to low carb & lots more fresh veggies, to be healthier and to feel fit. Also many of Patsy's. To try and not take things so personal. To make time each day to write.
