Posted - Jan 19 2016 : 06:07:17 AM Hi All! I know that I have been missing in action for quite awhile but I do have a good excuse. I've taken up swimming!! Yep, I'm crawling and doing the breast stroke to healed broken ankle and feet and a torn tendon. How much fun!! On 'free swim' days, I am swimming laps or treading water for an hour (did you know that burns more calories than laps?!) but on the regular days, I am doing water dancing! What a hoot. This 62 year old is in deep water, channeling Esther Williams to "It's All About That Bass". :-) I feel great.
So, just checking in to say, "Hi" and also to tell you that I have a new blog post up that I really would like dog owners to read. I hope that it helps somebody else in this situation. Miracles do happen!!

Posted - Jan 23 2016 : 12:27:05 PM Hey there, Mary Beth! I have had you on my mind for a while! I've missed you so much! You always have the greatest posts and kitchen treats to share!!! I'm so glad you're back!
You should've pulled that lifeguard's lip over his head and told him to go pound sand!!! LOL! What a trip! Hope you're a bit warmer by now!

Posted - Jan 22 2016 : 07:31:04 AM y'all are soooooo sweet. What a community of women!!!
I went to swimming yesterday and it was 31º outside and just about that in the water!! We all complained but the lifeguard just stuck out his lip and rubbed his eyes like he was crying us a river. He said, "Swim some laps and warm up!!" I did. I DIDN'T warm up!! We did an hour of really vigorous water dance and I was still cold when I got out. Haven't warmed up yet!!! But I have a fire going in the wood stove and I'm getting there. :-) Young whipper-snappers. Ha Ha.

Posted - Jan 19 2016 : 6:49:06 PM Welcome back! I am so glad to hear that swimming is doing wonders for you. I read your blog story and am in tears. This makes me so happy to hear. I am so happy to hear that your sweet puppy was given another chance at life. This would have been devastating had you not turned to a chiropractor. I would have never known that it was possible to help a dog who could not walk. My ladies are my world and I would do this in a heartbeat if they needed it. Thank you for sharing and letting the world know that there are other options.

Janet...do you like Florida better than Michigan? At least in Florida you don't have the cold Winters. You do sound like a Bionic Woman with all your replacement parts. Ha Ha!!
Have a Great Day Ladies!

Posted - Jan 19 2016 : 06:45:15 AM So happy to see you back. You have been missed. I moved to Florida from Michigan, and have been doing water aerobics daily in the pool. It really does help with all my aches and pains. I had both hips replaced, and my right shoulder. Without the water aerobics, I can hardly move. With it, you would never know I had arthritis, bone disease, and osteoporosis. Keep up the great work!!! Glad you are doing so well.

Posted - Jan 19 2016 : 06:42:31 AM So glad you are back Mary Beth! It does sound like you've been having a great time swimming and healing. I love Meghan Trainor's music too. Keeping swimming and thanks for the tip about treading water. I didn't realize it burned up more calories and is a lot easier to do for an hour than laps!
