My Mary Janes Farm calendar says today is "Homemade Bread Day". So, I decided it really was a good day to bake bread. It's cold, windy and not very nice outside. My four loaves are rising right now. I make Honey Oat bread and one of my favorite things to do is, while it is still warm, slice of a nice thick heel slice, spread it with homemade butter and honey (our honey supplier lives about 1/4 mile down the road). YUMMMMMMM!!

Daizy,
I freeze my bread in ziploc bags and have no issues with the taste. However, it's not in the freezer very long and sometimes that makes a difference in things having "freezer taste".

I'm dying down here....would love to share a slice with everyone. I am looking for a starter for the Mother counter rising recipe. I want to bake some for gifts and I will have to freeze them. Is there a trick to get them to freeze with out any freezer tastes? Any suggestions (or recipes) would be great.

Enjoy a slice for me!!

Hugs and prayers, Daizy #1093

Nothing beats homemade bread, regardless of what the weather is doing outside! I bet you and your hubby enjoyed hot slices slathered in butter too. Yum!

CeeJay, I really wished we lived closer. You've got my mouth watering. It was nasty weather here too.
