Oh Farmgirls!

I am so excited! This weekend, my friend and fellow farmgirl Heidi is coming to visit! It will be our 'girls' weekend! I first met Heidi here, on the forum. She didn't stay very long on the chatroom, but we became instant friends in 2010. She was one of my orginal "farmgirl chapter members", and we have kept in touch all these years. She lives in another state, and is driving in for the weekend! She has been here before, but the last time she was here, her daughter was 13 - she's now in college and MY baby is 13. She lives in the "city" and I'm in the 'burbs, so we call each other "CM" - short for country mouse and city mouse, lol.

We are both so excited. She texted me that she's so excited she can't sleep, lol. I really need the down time. We are going to knit, eat, drink coffee, and watch "chick flicks" and Christmas movies all weekend! She is an amazing knitter, and all we want to do is "veg" and chat. I.Can't. Wait.

I would've never met her if it weren't for MaryJane.

Farmgirl Hugs,
Nicole

How awesome that you girls got to meet up and have so much fun together! I've had the chance to visit three farmgirls this year myself, and it's been so wonderful to hang out with them!

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

Oh what fun! Heidi arrived 10 am Friday and left after breakfast on Sunday. We had perfect weather all weekend. We ate, drank coffee, knitted, ate some more, drank more coffee...it was such a fun time.

On Saturday we watched "girl movies" like "Love Actually" "Bridget Jones" 1 and 2, and "Christmas with the Kranks". We took the dogs to the park for a walk, and knitted. The coffee pot never cooled and we munched on yummy things like the cookies she brought from the Italian bakery (and the most yummy fresh-baked bread). On Saturday night we decided to go out for dinner, a rare treat for both of us. DD went to a slumber party that night, and my dh was working. We chatted non-stop and had a great time! She had to leave a little earlier than planned on Sunday because her dh got called into work (he works for a news channel). It was so nice to see her.

My pups got very, very spoiled and are still wondering where she went...I'm missing her too, but will go visit her this spring. :)

Here's some pics:

Tuesday of this week, I met up with Rebecca White, who lives here in Gainesville, Florida! She is often found on GirlGab, but I met her when she joined the Sisterhood. Rebecca now owns a tree farm that was her parents and farms it with her husband now. They have spent a couple of years bringing it back to a full working farm and added a beautiful fenced in garden and chicken coop. We toured around and shared a lot about our own crafting passions. Rebecca makes the most beautiful eggs and quilts. She has this amazing craft room in a winterized shed with all of her supplies, sewing machines and lots of storage. It is a craft person's dream space!! We had such a good time and I hope to visit with her more often as her time allows. Their tree farm keeps them very, very busy!!

It is such a wonderful gathering when you get to meet other Farmgirls! I wish I could meet every one of you here!!

Hi MaryJane,

We will be thinking of you, for sure. You're the reason we ever met!

I've already planned my menu for the weekend, and am "making ahead" some goodies, including a pumpkin pie!

I'll post pics after the weekend. We will be chatting non-stop, I just know it!
