Hi girls -

My hubby and I squirreled ourselves away to the movie theater today for the opening of "The Peanuts Movie." We were a little hesitant about it, because all the remakes we've seen to date have been so disappointing. For those of you who are concerned, HAVE NO FEAR! The movie was classic Peanuts! They didn't ruin it with adult inuendo or anything unsavory. It was pure, clean, innocent entertainment, and we absolutely LOVED it! It had a great story line, included many of the Peanuts classic moments... We laughed, we cried... we danced in our seats! It was totally wonderful! A true "feel good" kind of movie!

The funny thing is, I thought we'd be the weird older couple in the theater amidst a bunch of young families with younger children... The theater had mostly older people and only one young family! There was even a couple there in their 70's who came to see it with their adult children in their late 40's, early 50's! I guess we weren't the only ones seeking happy nostalgia! LOL!

I want to let you know that we only went to see the 2D film, and it was absolutely fine. There are a lot of scenes in the movie where I think it would've been cool to see in 3D, but don't feel it's a necessity to enjoy the movie!

So, please - go out and enjoy the movie! It will bring back fond memories, and make you feel like a kid again! I think I may try to take some of our friends kids just so I can go see it again! LOL!

Happy day!

Hugs -

Nini

Oh! I'm so happy everyone's looking forward to it! I just spoke with my husband's cousin yesterday - I might be going to see it again this weekend with her! Tee hee... There is just something about Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the gang that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside, like a little kid again! I am looking forward to reading all of YOUR reviews, too! :)

<Nicole - I know... After what happened to Kermit and Miss Piggy... This was such a nice affirmation of the goodness in the world, you know? :)>

Have a great time, girls! Can't wait to hear how you and your loved ones enjoy it! :)

Oh Nini, I am so glad you posted this! I am dying to see it now. I was very worried. Peanuts is a classic, more than that, an institution. Ya just don't mess with SNOOPY! I can't wait to take my dd and dh to see it. I have all the Peanuts movies on DVD and no Halloween or Thanksgiving is complete without at least one viewing of "The Great Pumpkin" or "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving".

Hooray that they kept it classic.

Nicole

Oh! GOOD! I am so glad to hear you're all going to see it, too! I really think you'll enjoy it! Dawn, your youngest is REALLY going to like it! I am looking forward to hearing what all of you think!!!

Bonnie! That is SO cool! We don't get to catch Antiques Roadshow very often anymore, but I will definitely be looking for you when we do! :)

I remember when I was a little girl in school, the big thing was to be able to draw Snoopy. There was one girl in our class who could nail it. It took me, on the other hand, until much later in life before you could really tell what I was drawing! LOL!! EVERYBODY wanted a Snoopy stuffed animal!

I'm so glad to hear this is a great movie. I loved Peanuts and bought the books and watched the holiday shows when I was a little girl. My youngest son, now 12, is a huge fan. He has bought nearly all the books and loves the holiday shows as much as I do. He even has 5 big Peanuts puzzles framed and hanging on his wall in his bedroom. We will definitely go see this movie over Thanksgiving weekend.

Haven't seen it yet but hope to. I have an original 18"x 24" picture of Charlie Brown and Snoopy done by Charles Shultz himself that says to Bonnie from Charlie Brown, Snoopy and Charles Shultz. He did it for me when I was a senior in high school in 1960. I was on Antiques Roadshow with it. Every once and awhile they play a rerun and someone tells me they saw me on tv.
