Just completed the finishing touches on my sons old dresser...I painted the whole thing a glossy black---applied 1960's sheet music including the Beatles ---Bob Dylan---and more---I couldn't help but sing along as I was working! The bird cutouts are from a hardcover vintage 1950 children's book with amazing graphics that I bought for .25 at our local library ---then I added vintage glass knobs absconded from another old dresser in our house--Finally, several coats of Mod Podge---and then multiple coats of clear varnish.

I had SO much fun doing this large project--I have listed a couple of decoupage items I recently finished in my Etsy store---long tall sallys--and I will be adding about 3 more items very soon.

I'm having a blast searching thrift stores and just lately a very good auction last Sunday for the perfect wooden boxes, etc. to re-purpose. I am also finding that I am looking out for more children's books with interesting illustrations--

Anyone else out there who does decoupage? I'd sure like to hear from you....

I'm a musician and, if I had a dresser to do that to, I'd find some music to fix it up. Alas and alack, I don't have a dresser . . . don't have room for another one, either!
It's gorgeous!

Wow, Melody! The dresser is just gorgeous! It won't be in your shop for long. I would have a difficult time parting with it!
