I wanted to share what my husband made for me last year...it's an old barrel that he brought home from work, along with an insert. He used an old pump to rig a hose to. I recently painted some daisies on the barrel. (I've taken up painting as my new thing, but I'm still real new at it and dont know many techniques yet).

I'd love to do a similar idea for a rain barrel. Finding the bowl for the top of the barrel will be the hardest part. LOL!

Great sink, Connie! Giving me ideas - and sometimes that is not good. I've got too many projects already.

I have an old cast iron/porcelain sink that was in the barn when I bought the house, and I've been trying to find something to set it on. I love this idea - now to find something I can use. Then all I'd need is an old faucet, hose connection, and drain line.

Winnie my husband drilled a hole in the pan and he ran pvc as drainage in the back, so i do use it as an outdoor sink, i love it. we try and re-purpose when we can. he even brought home dog crated that were missing parts and we used the flat panels as trellises for our tomatoes.

Connie, this is the cutest project ever!! What a cool idea. Does it function as a bird bath or for washing hands outside? Does it drain like a sink or do you have to just lift the pan part up and toss the water? Thanks for sharing!
