I wish it was for something more positive but .... There is quite the buzz going on with the escape convicts from Dannemora State Penitentiary (I'm 32 miles northeast from the prison). A few of my friends live right around the corner from where the search is going on. Many are on lock down! They have been advised to lock their doors, outside sheds, cars etc. and keep all outdoor lights on!

The woods in that area are quite dense. With all the rain that we've had, it is a mosquito haven! You'd think the mosquito infestation would be enough for the convicts to seek the safety and comfort of their cell.

My heart goes out to all the law enforcers searching for these individuals. They are working around the clock - 13 hour shifts in an area dense with greenery, fallen trees from prior storms, lots of mud, water from brooks, quick sand/mud and every northern critters imaginable. It ain't an easy area to search!

Much of the present media focus is on Joyce Mitchell, the lady who is believed to have helped the convict escape.

My hope is that all of this will be settled peacefully and no one will get hurt.

Peace & safety!

My Mom's family lives about 1 1/2 hours from you. They were telling my Mom all about it. Hope they catch those guys soon. I remember Grandpa talking about this prison when I was a kid. Hope everything turns out well for all.
