Posted - Aug 13 2015 : 10:30:54 AM I graduated in 1974 from Downey High in Modesto, CA. We were the Knights and there was a picture of a Knight on his steed on the floor inside the main doors of the school. If you stepped on it when you came in, there were always some upperclassmen there to make sure you cleaned it with a toothbrush. I never saw it happen but that was the rumor and nobody ever stepped on it.

Posted - Aug 07 2015 : 10:13:07 PM That's a cute story, Marilyn.
I graduated from Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, Illinois, in 1965. Our graduating class was somewhere around 1066 members. In fact, this September I am going back there for my 50th HS reunion. We have a FB page for the reunion and it is great hearing what classmates are doing and have been doing for 50 years. LOL!
Beverly - sounds like you and I were in the same general vicinity in the 60s. LOL!

Posted - Jun 01 2015 : 3:24:08 PM I graduated from high school in 1995 - I think there were about 80 of us in my class. When I was SUPPOSED to graduate with my associate's degree, we had a flood and graduation had to be postponed, because the only road into the little town where my community college was had flooded! I graduated in 2004 with a BA in English from LaGrange College, in one of the largest graduating classes there at the time, but still less than 200 people, I think! Last year I finally got my MLIS at Valdosta State University!

Posted - May 27 2015 : 12:08:20 PM I graduated from Parkersburg, WV in 1974. Karla, we were known as the Patriots also. I graduated with my AA in 2013 and will have my BA in 2016. Don't know if I will be done yet as I might continue for my Masters. Still thinking about it, even though time is running out and I need to make a decision.

Posted - May 27 2015 : 07:04:58 AM I graduated from Lanett High School in Lanett, Alabama in 1995. There were about 80 of us in the class, and most of us had known each other since kindergarten.
My BA in English from LaGrange college was 11 years ago this past Friday, or May 22, 2004. I kept thinking about that as my stepson graduated HS on Friday afternoon.
I finally got my Masters of Library and Information Science last year on May 10. I think I'm done graduating!

Posted - May 26 2015 : 1:15:11 PM All of my siblings graduated from the same high school I did (I am #5 of 6). First it was called Montezuma County High School and then sometime before I attended it became Montezuma-Cortez High School (no longer the only high school in Montezuma County). Our colors were . . . still are . . . black and orange. The building that WAS the high school when we all attended is now the middle school. When I attended there was a black panther inlaid in the tile floor of the foyer and it was "sacrilege" to step on it! Of course, once it became the middle school the panther inlay was gone. I worked at the middle school for 9 years . . . brought back lots of memories! There had been a lot of remodel of the original building and an addition of several classrooms, etc. too. CJ

Posted - May 22 2015 : 09:02:57 AM Marilyn, I like you phrase "Our eyes see age from the inside out" - Love it!
Believe it or not, I have never been to a class reunion. Not ever sure they had one. If they did I never heard about it. I have managed to find some of my class mates, which is always fun. Everyone is so far apart. Facebook is good for catching up on our past lives.
Great thread to read! Cheers!

Posted - May 22 2015 : 08:40:34 AM I love how you put that, Marilyn. It's true, if we just stop to think about it, we are still all those ages inside...6...15...24... If we see it that way, we will see folks in their 80s and 90s in a whole different light, because they are all those ages inside too!
