Posted - Apr 07 2015 : 1:20:26 PM Hi girls -
Today I was discussing the Constitution with my son and suddenly broke into the Schoolhouse Rock Preamble song! LOL! My son rolled his eyes, but he listened and laughed. That's how I taught him some really neat stuff when he was little, after all. It really struck me, though, just how much those wonderful Schoolhouse Rock videos have stuck with me over the years. I SWEAR they got me through those super tough English classes, but I have also referred back to them hundreds of times when teaching my son different concepts in homeschool over the years! SUCH a blessing! I wonder if the creators of those little songs and videos even comprehend the profound impact their work have had! How I WISH they would still play them during commercials on EVERY channel nowadays!
Here are some of my favorites... I don't remember ALL the lyrics, but I do remember a good bit of them 40+ years later! How funny!!!
The Preamble I'm Just A Bill No More King! Conjunction Junction Verbs! (Always felt so funky when we'd sing it!) Adjectives Interjections (Hey, it's not fair giving a guy and injection down there!) (LOL!) Lolly, Lolly, Lolly Get Your Adverbs Here Mother Necessity Where the Money Goes Elementary, My Dear
So, what's YOUR favorite Schoolhouse Rock video? Do you still remember the lyrics?
Thank you, Schoolhouse Rock! You have served me well, and I am still enjoying and sharing you today!
Hugs -

Posted - Apr 07 2015 : 2:24:22 PM I kept singing "I'm Just a Bill" when were were in the DC mall area two weeks ago. It got stuck in my head and my husband & son begged me to quit singing it since it was getting stuck in theirs as well.
I loved those songs when I was a kid, they helped me memorize things for school much better than studying only! They were and still are a great teaching tool.
