Posted - Mar 24 2015 : 4:55:48 PM I've seen bits of this movie. But last Sat night, after we got home from a family dinner, I watched the whole thing, all 3 hrs worth. And saturated 3 Kleenexes. Such wonderful acting, and I love the kitchen and all scenes that take place there. Then, Sunday, it was on again. Only watched the last half hour, so only saturated one Kleenex. Am I the only one?? (BTW, I know this movie is 20 yrs old, that's about how long it takes me to catch up...HAHA)

Let me know how you like it! I wish it was still in print. My favorite recipes are the chicken cacciatore, the meatloaf (oh the meatloaf...so good, a family favorite), the Apple Brown Betty...just about everything in there is delicious.
I am so excited you got one...I know you will love it.

Posted - Mar 28 2015 : 4:09:52 PM Oh Lisa, that is one of my favorite movies, from a favorite book by a favorite author.
I own it on DVD and have to watch it every once in awhile. I LOVE her kitchen! I sit there and notice all the vintage items. ;)
If you ever get the chance, try to find this out of print cookbook. I think there is some on Amazon. It is from the caterers to the movie and one of the BEST cookbooks ever. The pics are beautiful, too.

I bought it new and STILL use it a lot.

Posted - Mar 25 2015 : 11:03:52 AM I loved that movie . . . I used to watch it with a friend on a somewhat regular basis, but then she kept telling me how much it reminded her of her own marriage . . . and I didn't want to be accused of helping her sneak into the cookie jar, so I haven't watched it with her since. But I still like to watch it every now and then . . . since my husband isn't so "clean" and boring . . . and I oh so love her kitchen!

Posted - Mar 25 2015 : 03:53:41 AM Lisa, that brings back memories. The book was passed around at work then I bought my own copy. Loved it. Couldn't wait until the movie came out. The farmhouse and her kitchen was spot on with how I imagined it. One of my favorite bitter sweet love stories of all time.

Posted - Mar 24 2015 : 5:25:02 PM Oh, I love that movie. My favorite (and ironically least favorite) part is when he is in the truck and drives away. I just want to tell her to jump in and go for it. Is that wrong? The kitchen setting is beautiful.
