I have been thinking about how I wish someone would creat a blog Ring for the Mary Jane Farmgirls...I am not computer literate enough to create an Icon etc for the Ring.....or is there one already I am missing? www.ringsurf.com Is it a copyright issue to name it MJ Farmgirls? if so could we name it just Blogging FarmGirls or anything else y'all suggest. For the Icon I picture a girl hanging clothes on a clothes line or feeding chickens or carrying a basket with vegetables.

Alot here have blogs and would be great to visit the blogs by clicking Next!

I am sitting here catching up reading, as we are just sitting at the inlaws in Kentucky, waiting for 2 pm, which is when Dh's grandmother wake starts.

I love this site, it inspires me everytime I come and read of about your lives and crafts!

Thanks.....Michelle

Hey, all you Farmgirls:

MaryJane says it would be great to create a ring focused around MaryJanesFarm i.e. you could use "MaryJanesFarm" in naming it.
We'd like to have whoever's interested take on the creation and maintenance of the ring, new members, the logo, etc. so that we need not be too involved.

Carolinagirl, Michelle, Libbie et al, if you haven't already started, I took a few moments to look into what rings are and how they work.
Basically, doing it the standard way, just to list it out for posterity's sake:
1. You go to a service such as RingSurf (www.ringsurf.com) and sign up.
2. Create a home page for the ring, where people go to sign up and join in. (Not necessary, but customary, unless RingSurf requires it).
3. Create your graphic logo, if you wish.
4. Select someone who will manage new members and the members lists and setting them up, and handling the linking code and images.
5. Members copy the logo or whatever and the navigation tools and code to their website somewhere.
The Navigation tools allow a visitor to cycle through the webpages on the ring, see a list, go to the home page for the ring, visit random sites in the ring, etc.
Also, note that normally a member website will only register one of their pages with the ring, that way a ring doesn't get flooded with a ton of pages all from one site, I suppose.

That should basically be it. I tried to keep it short. I'll be here to assist with setting it up, if needed.

Gabe

Kim,

I think it is easy to set up a ring but not sure about creating the Icon for the Blog. Not sure if we can use the Mary Jane name, do you know who to ask?
