Hi all,
I have struggled with my weight all of my life. I recently
joined Weight Watchers again. I was just curious if
there are any farmsisters who also use this program.
I thought if so, maybe we could share tips and give support.

Thanks Jenny! I may take you up on it! It's actually not a good week for me. Oh well, I'm not going to stress about it. I wish the weather would get warmer so that I can start doing my power walks. It's spring, winter, spring, winter ... wish it would make up it's mind. We are expecting snow tonight!

As for the meetings, they are not convenient for me. Wed at 6:00 pm 30 miles away. I finish work at 5:00, rush to the meeting ... rush back home for dinner .... thankfully my dh cooks!

Keeping this thread going is a good idea! Cheers!

Melanie,
I do that with my salad veggies so that I have everything that I can just put together a quick salad. If I don't I tend to grab something that is usually not a good choice. That's what was nice about working because I had to plan and make my lunch ahead so I could make good choices. Definitely need to keep this thread going. I can use the encouragement and ideas!

I find I do best if I spend a bit of time and prepare a few meals and snacks for the week. Then, if I'm in a rush, I have some healthy things that are quick and I don't eat too much junk that way

I think I should be going to the meetings but they meet on Tuesday mornings here and I cannot make those. I did this the first time while I was working and I was on my feet all day walking and moving so it was much easier than being at home and not getting the exercise I need. I have my dad with us and so my schedule pretty much revolves around him and the appts., etc.

Hi Carole,
I know what you mean about "tomorrow is another day"! I am doing pretty well so far 11 pounds off in a month.
Each day is a new day and a new stockpile of points. It's almost like a game. I do go to the meetings weekly.
I really enjoy that time on Saturday morning. Our group is fun and I feel like I'm not out there alone. If you ever
need some support, I'm here for you!

I like WW and use their app for my phone. It's great to be able to scan an item and the points show up. Will admit, it hasn't been a good week for me with the holiday and what not. But, tomorrow is another day! I don't go to the meeting every week as it is a half hour away, but I try to go once a month.

Hi ladies,
I have done WW in the past with success. I was using the new system online but it was to pricey and so I have gone back to the old system this time. I still have all of the tools. I like the old way best because it works best for me. Right now I am doing lots of salads, which I love but I am still having trouble kicking the sugar habit. I know once I can get away from it I can do this.

Hi ladies :)
I joined WW , and enjoyed the program, but, didn't stay with it as I couldn't afford it. (Not that I don't think it's worth it, just not in the budget right now) I will rejoin soon, as the spring is coming, and I will soon have more $$ in the budget :)

Not a problem. I'm still figuring it all out.
The little calculator I have that tells me the points is based on the:
fat, fiber, carbohydrates, and protein. It doesn't ask for calories.
It is a lot of portion control for me.
My hubby made me a giant pot of veggie soup. I will be living off
of it for awhile to get those first few pounds off!
I have to say I am feeling positive and better already.

Thanks, Jenny. You know what I don't understand, though? The new system doesn't seem to have a really balanced plan of so much protein, so many fats, so many starches, etc., etc. - or does it? When I used the system, they were very specific about how much you needed to consume in each category in order to keep your metabolism hopping. From what I've seen, they now basically only tell you to count the points, which would seem that you can pretty much eat what you want as long as it falls into the right number of points, which would be calories, right? That seems so odd to me. Am I wrong about that? Thanks for putting up with my questions... Hugs - Nini

Thanks for responding. So far, I am finding it similar to the old system.
The biggest change is that I can't use my trusty slider anymore, but...
I purchased for $10 the little calculator they offer and it is just like my
slider. The points you get each day are about the same and there is a
new 49 extra points everyone gets each week. These are in case you go
over, or have a special event. (I haven't used mine!)
The veggies are free if they are fresh and so are the fruits. They suggest
3 fruit servings a day and if you go over, then I believe you begin to count
them.
I haven't been through my first week, so I'll have to let you know how I
make out. When I was on it before and after my daughter, I did well. It
was actually the only way I can successfully lose weight properly.
Hope this helps.

God has a bigger plan for me than I have for myself.

What do YOU think of it, Jenny? I did it many, many moons ago on the old plan and LOVED it! I got down to a size 2 and didn't feel deprived at all! (Although, I had to gain weight - when I smiled, I was all teeth...) I've seen the new program and have really been hesitant about it. I like the old system... I'd really like to hear what everyone has to say, too! Good luck! Hugs - Nini
