Well, I am breaking out the soap molds after four years to participate as a vendor in a 20 year reunion at my former AFB, K.I. Sawyer. This was the last post we lived at when my dad retired after 20-years in the service. We were there until '72-I was just about to enter High School. The base closed back in the 90's---It sure has changed-especially the housing. I really thought about this and decided to go ahead and participate as one of the vendors at the reunion-The same weekend there will be an "open house" as well. I am really looking forward to it.

The theme of the reunion is "Heritage of Communities"

I'm stumped. It is encouraged by the committee running the reunion that each vendor incorporate the theme into what they are selling or an Air Force theme. Any ideas for me?

When I had my soap business I always wrapped and labeled my soap, but I am willing to use only a "band" to expose the bar. Help! I could use some crafty advice from my farm-girl sisters.....

Maybe you could do the label in the theme and wrap the soap in air force like fabric (available at e-quilter.com)Labels could be shaped like planes or medals or stars. Good luck. I've made lots of soap and it's fun.

Oh, my, sounds like a challenge, but fun!

I googled K.I. Sawyer - interesting and the images were inspiring...

embedding a star into a round mold...
embedding lightning bolt
divide mold into two halves ... one half color a grey reminiscent of color of planes, the other half red/white/blue (either layers or swirls) to honor their patriotism.

they had some great patches on their website that would be fun on labels.

Maybe you could find a plane-shaped mold? Maybe a cookie-cutter?
Or put a plane on the label.
