Our first real snowfall of the year fell tonight. It's not deep but the ground is covered with white. I just made a lotion with almond/olive oil, beeswax, cocoa butter, vegetable glycerin and arrowroot powder. My hands take a beating when the weather gets like this and I hope this lotion will help.

Heat wave here in Ks, it is 30 degrees. We also had a skiff of snow. Not even enough to cover the ground. Going to travel 4 hrs to watch two grandkids in a school play. Thankful the snow did not materialize.

Supposed to be 29 here tonight. Brrrrr! Good thing I have a fireplace. They put out heat like no other thing can do! So it is cozy up time with the fire going and knitting in hand!

We got some spitting snow here and there today but it didn't stick. It's supposed to get down to 19 degrees tonight. I've been wearing the knitted hat and scarf I received in a swap from Stephanie Smith. Everyone has commented on them and they're WARM. Thank you, Stephanie! Kem--I once had an Irish setter who would sleep outside his doghouse in winter. We had a big old air force blanket in his doghouse and he'd drag it out and sleep on it outside. We'd go out in the morning and his nose and toes were white. but it never seemed to bother him. Guess all that long hair kept him warm. He did appreciate coming in the house when he got older. Sleeping in the snow is for young dogs.

I know you guys are getti snow and cold weather early, and I understand the need of extra precautions, but I must admit that I miss the snow and am looking forward to having some in a couple years! With that said, be safe, yet enjoy!

Goodness 7.5 inches and counting! Does it seem a tad early to you?

getting much colder in Wisconsin, the snow hasn't started, but we can sure feel it in the air!

All of you take care and keep warm with this blast of Arctic air!! It is coming early and supposedly full of snow and bitter temperatures. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Sounds like time for a pot of slow cooking soup and the knitting needles!!

Please keep it up there! I heard northwestern WI is getting hit hard with snow today. They are still saying 60 for the next two days here in the Chicago area, then we dip to the 30's. I love winter, but would like to ease into it instead of being plunged into a snowstorm!

I hope everyone stays warm and safe!
