Posted - Oct 01 2014 : 07:45:07 AM Denise, I'm glad to know there is an end and better days to come.
Judy, you pegged it....who is the real me? All of the identities we experience are probably all a part of the real 'me'. Which is scary because the real me sometimes wants to pinch someone's head off. lol!

Posted - Sep 30 2014 : 6:54:06 PM I am so glad to be on the down side of menopause. I still don't sleep well and the hot flashes show up sometimes but those awful night sweats are over. I keep wondering when the brain is going to kick back into gear. A friend of mine told me it will so I hope it is soon. I miss it. My mil had a full hysterectomy at 40 and it threw her right into menopause. It seems now they want to do partials more in order to avoid that.

Sometimes I wonder who the real me is...and if this is not the real me...where did she go and when she will return:):):)

Posted - Sep 30 2014 : 12:44:34 PM Sherone, my mom also had a full hysterectomy in her 40's and wasn't able to share a menopause experience.
For me, at least right now, the physical symptoms are tolerable. It's the mental and emotional that is difficult not only for me but my whole family. I'm in the beginnings of it, so I still have pms, too. I used to be nuts just a few days a month. Now I'm crazy all the time. lol

Posted - Sep 30 2014 : 12:36:52 PM So happy to hear that I'm not the only "crazy" one around. One thing that is really bugging me (OK, everything is bugging me) is that if you try to talk about menopause to the general public, it is like you said a dirty word. This would have been so much easier if more women talked about and we could be somewhat prepared. My mom had a full hysterectomy at 45, so she didn't go through it. Share your thoughts and I hope the younger hens are reading this. You need to understand what to expect.

Posted - Sep 28 2014 : 06:13:00 AM Girls, y'all ain't alone.
Sometimes I feel like I'm literally going crazy in my brain. Like you blogged, Sherone,...mood swings, focus, hot flashes, etc... It paralyzes me and I become so unproductive. My poor hubby feels helpless in comforting me.
I've been doing some research on 'bioidentical hormone therapy'. It seems to be a big thing right now. I just don't want to jump on a fad or trendy bandwagon. Plus, it's expensive.
I've tried herbals but can't seem to get the right amounts and ratios to provide a big help.

Posted - Sep 19 2014 : 10:19:07 PM Boy I am right there with you too. Havent had hot flashes too bad either, but the sleeplessness and forgetfulness has been bad. I have had so much in the way of wonderful changes in the past couple years that it has made it easier to cope. This aging stuff really isn't for sissies, though,is it?
Inside me there is a skinny girl crying to get out, but I can usually shut her up with cookies. |

Posted - Sep 19 2014 : 6:14:22 PM I hear ya, Sherone. I'm peri-menopausal and I've been having a terrible time trying to focus. No hot flashes yet but I've been having fever symptoms so maybe that's how it starts. I feel hot sometimes and don't know why. I think doing yoga helps. I have some black cohosh pills that I keep forgetting to take, also have red clover and raspberry leaf for tea. Just wish I could lose some weight. Cindy
