I've been thinking about how my decorating style has evolved over the years. Early in the 1960s I was into Spanish but I tired of that real quick. Gradually old things started to spark my interest; everything from a real antique to any crusty rusty old thing.

Some 40+ years later I can finally define my style. It's pre 1960s Texas farm house meets its English cottage cousin with a little bit of shabby chic mixed in.

Now that you know about me I want to know about your style.

I agree that Teri's home is right out of Country Living :)

We have a few antiques and more decorative clutter ;) I would say that our style is Victorian Farmhouse but no foo foo :)

Sara,
I used to and still do love color, but now where I am trying to pare back. I have been trying to keep my color pallet in my house to a simple style, so as any piece can go in any room and look good there. I too have been through every decorating style over the years ... and now I just want simple.
I do love a fall color pallet, just something about those colors that just seem to make you want to relax just a little more.

Teri, as my sister Betty would say 'your picture is a Country Living magazine cover. Like your style & color choices.

Most of my house is done in fall colors - rusty reds, orange, yellows, dark teal blue, and all shades of greens. My bedroom has hunter green, taupe, red & yellow. I guess you could say it looks kinda like a crazy quilt.

I guess I have my own style, I love primitive with a farmhouse twist. I like the old chippy paint and BIG furniture pieces, like the step backs, pie safes, harvest tables. I use mostly whites, blacks and just a bit of yellow gold for an accent color.
kind of like this ...
