I decided to go on a treasure hunt of past 'conversations' I've had with so many special farmgirls. In that hunt, I found my first Welcome Wagon post from 2005....

Hello to all!
I've just joined the Connection Community. I've read the "rules" in the Welcome Wagon and have also read many past posts and replies. Reading them, I feel like I already know Aunt Jenny and many others. Y'all are a hoot!
My daughters are frequent chatters on the Ty Beanie Baby site and have met wonderful new friends from all around the world. They "talk" to these friends daily. When I told them about this chat part of the Farmgirl site they encouraged me to sign up immediately and advised that I would "have so much fun".
Maryjane's book was my first introduction to her. Whatever I've missed in the past I feel that the book has certainly endeared my heart to her. That also means my heart is kindred with y'all, too. The book was a gift from my Moma (I know that I spell "momma" wrong......but it's right to me!
Let's see.....introductions..... I'm married to hunkman Jason and we have two beautiful girls aged 13 and 10. We homeschool, which is really a great excuse to spend all day outside with the animals and getting dirty. I grew up in LA on the banks of the Bayou Teche setting my crab traps each morning and feeding the animals before catching the bus. Now, living in Texas, I try to put as much farm life in our little patch of land that I can. My dream would be to have acres and acres of land with tons and tons of animals and crops. My daughters tell me that they're going to marry cowboys or ranchers and I can live in the barn and muck the stalls. That actually sounds really great!!
Okay, I can be wordy. This post is turning into a novel. Please advise me when my posts are too long.
Well, HELLO!! and I look forward to meeting y'all.

Wow! My girls were 13 and 10. The 13yo is now a 21yo married woman and the 10yo is an 18yo college student. My sweet Moma, who gave me my first MJ book passed in 2013. So many changes. But, one constant is that I still try to put as much on my small farm as possible.

Do you have a "first post" you'd like to find and share?

Weird, huh? Well I guess I do talk alot. Haha

Inside me there is a skinny girl crying to get out, but I can usually shut her up with cookies.

Mine is still in my "subscriptions". It's funny to see how "far" I've traveled since then. Love my farmgirl friends!

It wasn't too difficult or took too long to wade through all the pages. I knew my first post had to be in the 'welcome wagon' since that's where most go when they're new. Once I was in the 'welcome wagon' category I looked by date.

OMG!! Aunt Jenny!! I was also wondering if that was you. I remember all your posts about your milk cow and your kids. So glad you're doing well.

Jenny,
I was wondering if you were one and the same "Aunt Jenny"! And I see you're no longer in Utah. I love SLO! Someday I hope to visit that area again!

I tried but I am pretty lame with technology. Saw alot of neat old posts that were fun to read but didnt find my first. Yet. I had a gazillion of them under Aunt Jenny. Now it is auntjenny, since I could never figure out how to get ba ck on the other name. So fun, thanks for the sweet memories I have found so far!

To start your treasure hunt, click on your name and it'll bring up the User Profile window. There is a search for all non-archived posts in that window.
