Am I the last person on the planet that enjoys polishing silver?
I actually enjoy the process... and the result form my effort.

oops! sorry about the sideways picture...

I believe that Silver and Crystle should been seen, not tucked away in a closet... it is a bit of upkeep,,, but it makes me smile so the work is worth it..
I posted a few more photos on my blog,,, I just wish my camera took better photos.

I will not eat ice cream with anything but a sterling silver spoon. So there. :)

Grace, is there a polish you prefer?

Sarah, some of these are from my mother's collection, some from friends & relatives and some that I find in little Thrifts.... but they are all so very precious to me... :>)

I can see how you would enjoy cleaning something so beautiful! I have never had any silver pieces so I can't say if I like to clean it or not. :)

I have to be honest... I have come across several non chemical 'recipes'... but it never fails, when I am in the mood to polish... I never have all the ingredients... so I fall back to using the dreaded Tarnex... but then I was the silver in warm soapy water.... I love how it shines!

I have some old silver I am going to get out and polish soon. You ladies have any tips and hints and maybe the brand of silver polish you like the best.

Thanks,

Kathy

Janet, I have bought some odd pieces of silver,,, sugar bowls, chaffing trays and even serving trays... they were so tarnished and worn,,, that I just spray painted them to match my trailer... I also spray paint tin cake covers as well as those cheesy brassy trays, lipstick holders and tissue covers... after all, our trailers deserve a bit of prim & proper bling! lol!
If you stroll back a few pages in my 'gracies' blog you'll see what I did.

PeggyAnn,,, oh man, I wish I were your neighbor when you decided to get rid or your silver... BooHoo... but I would have let you come visit it... lol!
