Posted - Mar 28 2014 : 08:58:09 AM Farm girl Denise sent me a towel and some cute transfers so I made this up over the last few days. I love doing these. Also re-reading a book that I read years ago.

Posted - Mar 28 2014 : 7:33:52 PM Lovely towel Nancy. I too haven't used any of the towels or dishcloths I have received from other Farm Sisters. Guess I should though. Sure hate to see them get stained and faded after a lot of use.
I do follow your blog quite a bit and enjoy it very much. I didn't know about the book or the movie. Will have to see if I can find out more about both.
Hugs, Brenda

Posted - Mar 28 2014 : 2:32:34 PM Peggy, I think we have a problem, we are suppose to use the towels. Have to work on that. No I didn't know there was a movie "Mrs. Mike", but you are right, the book is usually better then the movie. Nancy JO

Posted - Mar 28 2014 : 1:41:31 PM Nancy Hi I am fairly new here and spend a little time looking at the active topics everyday. I followed your blog link and had to post.
I bought a bunch of Aunt Martha's transfers awhile ago because I just love the old fashioned look they have. I have a something-or-other started that has days of the week Kewpies on it. And I can almost guarantee I will put it somewhere that it can't get dirty! I say it's something-or-other because I have the transfers in the four corners of a square cloth so I can cut it up or do whatever I want with them.
Mrs. Mike was a favorite book of my mother and I read it years ago too. Loved the story. Several years ago I saw the movie on Turner Classic. I don't know if you knew there was a movie made but there was.1949 with Dick Powell and Evelyn Keyes. I really love a lot of the oldies I do think the movie wasn't quite as good as the book but I guess that is usually the case.
But anywho I am glad I am not the only one who makes something useful like a towel and then doesn't want to dirty it LOL!
