I want to go caroling! It isn't even thanksgiving yet but already I am looking forward to the magical month of December!

I have hugely fond memories of driving around in a warm car with my family looking at the magically transformed houses (my town was big into decorating. One family would spend over $3000 a month in electricity because of all the lights on their house. horribly extravagant I know- but beautiful!)

For some reason the carols that we sang while driving around are always the best part. There are funny and fun songs to sing like "Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" and "Jingle Bell Rock" but then there are the sweet ones like "O Holy Night" and "The First Noel".

I am not sure if I will be brave enough to actually go out and truely carol but I can't wait for the season to be on us!

I will get to go with the youth from church this year for sure..oldest daughter is "one of them" so she will be with me...I look so forward to it. We deliver fruit baskets to the needy and widows while caroling..a tradition I LOVE!

Inside me there is a skinny woman crying to get out...but I can usually shut her up with cookies

My neighbors had a Christmas party last year that involved caroling up and down the block. It was fun, but here's a tip: Make sure your caroling group has a high adult:kid ratio!
I think we must have covered the whole block in less than half an hour (running after the kids) and the only song they knew was Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer! Still, nobody took a shot at us or called the police...

Our book group used to get together in December and carol the fire stations near us. We also brought big plates of treats for them, so they had to listen to us!! Otherwise- no cookies!! We do get together as a church group and carol those that are homebound in our ward. It is always the best time together!! I hope you can find a group.

We used to carol with church groups when I was a kid. It was so fun! If you aren't involved in a church you may be able to join some carolers from a local church that is doing this.

Jewelry, art, baskets, etc.
