I really should learn out to make some clothes, I could make lots of cute summer things. Can't one of you girls out there come live next door to me and teach me to sew?

Posted - Feb 17 2014 : 10:47:12 AM Oh I so would. I taught myself to sew by buying a pattern for shorts and longer pants, gathering fabric and putting it together. While I was making the shorts, I went very slowly, learned from mistakes, corrected them and eventually had a pair of shorts I loved to wear. I had to learn all by myself how to make a fly, insert a zipper and do top stitching. I have never taken a sewing lesson but frequently ask advice from a friend who makes costume recreations. Even though I cannot be there, I am always here for any questions you have.
Enjoy the journey and don't fret the small stuff.
