Posted - Jan 29 2014 : 03:58:59 AM Nancy - Last night on the news they said that some of our local schools have resorted to "cyber schooling" on days the kids miss due to this frigid cold. Basically, the kids are going online, reading their assignments and completing their lessons while stuck at home. By so doing, they still are considered to have been in school for the day, so they won't have classes running late into summer. I think this is such a great idea! Sadly for my son, he's homeschooled, so other than being allowed to sleep in a little longer (who wants to get up early when it's so cold?!), he still has a full day, no matter what the weather! I'm such a mean Mom! LOL! But he's usually very grateful when he completes his required days far earlier in the late spring than his friends in public school do! ;) Hugs - Nini

Posted - Jan 27 2014 : 12:21:23 PM Wow - that's such a nice basket, Nancy! How about a tea strainer, a teabag holder, local honey and a honey dipper, little jars of jam, lemon curd, and/or Devonshire cream, a spreader... there are even some really inexpensive booklets out there about tea time, how to host a Victorian tea, and the history of tea. You may even be able to print out some information from online, roll it in a scroll-fashion and tie it with a ribbon. I think that would be a neat tuck-in, for sure!
No matter what you decide, I really think you've got such a great start! Lucky winner! :)
Hugs -
