Love these old blocks, "The real big ones in the picture", I think they are from the very early 1900's or late 1800's. I know they came from a wealthy estate in New York city on the Hudson. I bet the small children that played with them had a Nanny.

My friends mom was a teacher for years, and she gave us a box of good, old, sturdy wooden blocks just like that! I love them! They've made it through my two and who knows how many before!! Nothing beats a classic!

I have my dad's old wooden blocks, they are shapes set into a matching wooden tray with wheels. I do love blocks, there's something about them - a simpler time, maybe.
Thanks, Nancy!

Jeannie,
Yes I think the big ones have some value. I will just keep them for any little tots that come around.Or any big tot that would like to stack them up.

Love the blocks. I had a set also when I was growing up. Marybeth, you and I must be chips off the old blocks. Ouch. I know that was really corny. Anyway, Nancy Jo, I am sure those blocks have some worth to collectors now.

I have my wood blocks I had when I was a young child. That means they are REALLY old. I should take a pic of them someday. MB
