I found this cutie at a local 2nd shop... it appears to be home made, and well worn/used.. which I just luv... I actually have a 'retro pattern' for this style of apron and have made one... but this one looks to have been made from, dare I say, flour sack type cloth... I know flour was not the only thing bagged up in cloth,,, sugar, mash, wheat rice and other grains were bagged up as well... I will have to research the bits of cloth in this apron ...and I have a wonderful book called "Dating Fabric" to aid me in my search..
I hand washed it last night and will iron it today... I can hardly wait... I want it to tell me all about the times it was worn while in the kitchen.. oh if only aprons could talk... mine would probably say,,, ya burnt the cookies... again! lol!

Posted - Dec 18 2013 : 1:09:13 PM That is lovely! Yup, the stories it could tell!
I know the stories MY aprons could tell!!!
And, if you heard ALL the stories told by the hundreds and hundreds that I've sold . . . mercy me!!! Lovely! CJ
