I love history and have always wanted to write about the history of Past Blessings Farm. Well, finally, after a lot of research (which was so fun!) I did it! Grab a cup of tea or coffee and come join me at my blog. It is a wonderful story and I am so happy to get to be a part of it's rich history!

Annie, I am so glad you planned your vacation around our show . . . and so very honored! Glad you enjoyed it and so glad to have you moving our way! Rathdrum is a lovely area and there are beautiful treed areas there. Make sure you keep in contact when you move up here . . . I would love to get together with you! Thank you for your kind words about our show. We work really hard to make it good, so it is great to hear positive feedback!
Peggy, Vancouver is a lovely area too! I am so sorry your Mom is alone up here. That must be very difficult for her. I have to admit I sometimes struggle with the snow. On one hand it is very beautiful and peaceful and makes me enjoy "nesting" but when I need to get out, it can be a real frustration as well. If I could control the weather, I would have it be 75 degrees almost year around . . . with a couple of weeks for a colorful fall and a week of snow! LOL!

Brenda...I thoroughly enjoyed your Blog about "Past Blessings Farm". I am from Spokane.
I lived there for 30 years and graduated from Shadle Park H.S. in 1970. My mom still lives
there but the rest of my family died young and so she has nobody there. She is 80 and has
out lived her family and friends. She has me and her sister who lives in Portland...just
over the Bridge from us....and that is it. I tried to talk her in to selling and moving here
when my dad died 12 years ago...but she wouldn't. Now that my brother and little sister
passed away too...she is all alone. I feel bad for her but still she refuses to move. At
80 I don't blame her but she could have done it easier at 68...when I first asked her too.
I know the landmarks that you showed... The Mission and The Grange in Bigalow Gulge. And I
remember the History of Chief Gary and oops the other one just slipped my mind from My Washington State History Classes. I moved to Vancouver 28 years ago and I must say that I
like it here better than Spokane. I think Spokane is a nice place to be from...but the area
does have a rich history. What I like about the Vancouver/Portland OR area is that we have
the Ocean 2 1/2 hours away either Washington and Oregon Beaches and we have The Mountains
both Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens and many many lakes and rivers too. It rains more here but
we don't have the snow to contend with here. Maybes a little (1-2 weeks) out of the year. If
that.
I loved the History of your Farm...and it must be a huge Blessing to...remember those who
came before you...as you and your family perpetuate the Farms Story. Thanks so Much for Sharing.

Hi Brenda,
I enjoyed reading about your land's heritage. It is so great you are now an extended part of that. I had such a good time at your recent antique show (I'm the one that planned a vacation around your event). Your property is wonderful and what an adorable home. My DH had such a great time and loved the area so much we now have our home on the market and are looking to purchase in the Coeur d'Alene area. I have been contemplating a move for a couple of years up that way ever since I went to a Glamping Event. With the real estate market picking up here a bit, we can now go. I like a bit more woodsy area so that is why we are looking on the Idaho side towards Rathdrum. So we will be about 35 minutes from you. It was great meeting you and I do love my purchases I made from your barn area. Great goodies and very reasonable prices! They are safely packed away with the remainder of our 60% of our belonging already packed and in storage so I could stage my house for sale. I too need some land to roam around on, plant some gardens, take photos, see wildlife and enjoy the seasons. Your event was so much fun and pleasant and each dealer also fun and joyful. Hopefully we are up there before the snow flies :-)
