Posted - Sep 14 2013 : 4:04:17 PM Haven't gone wild yet, but I pulled out my fall placemats and am burning some spicy pumpkin candles. Next week, I will just have to pull up my box of autumn goodies.
How about y'all?

Posted - Sep 23 2013 : 10:31:29 AM I must be ready for fall 'cause now I want to break out the Halloween stuff, too! Baking two more loaves of pumpkin bread, and chili is in the pot for tonight.
We missed Halloween two years in a row in my area due to Winter Storm Alfred and then Hurricane Sandy, so hopefully we have it this year before my daughter is too old to trick or treat!

Posted - Sep 18 2013 : 6:47:46 PM Picked up a few mums. Kmart has them for $2.50 a pot! Put my fall mailbox wrap on the mailbox. Not putting out Halloween yet - too early. When do you start your Halloween decorating - after October 1st?

Posted - Sep 16 2013 : 08:19:11 AM We just emptied our storage units also as we transition from city to rural life. Some of the stuff contained my "halloween" stuff and all I wanted to do was go through and start decorating. But we have a house in the city to sell and one in the country we are working on the interior so don't really have the time or place to decorate. But my favorite thing is to make wool felt halloween/fall characters. So I started another one to satisfy my fall decorating thirst. I can take it with me and sneak a few stitches here and there. Fall is my favorite time and I long to sit out under the stars with a pit fire going to make s'mores and just veg.

Posted - Sep 16 2013 : 08:05:11 AM It was about 90+ here the last few days and I'm dying for autumn to arrive. Between working my bum off outside and trying to finish with what building and repair projects we have, emptying out a large rental storage unit and sorting through all of the things there and getting ready for the post harvest dust deep clean, I'm not at all ready to decorate.
I found a heavy wrought iron lantern and some deliciously scented candles at a yard sale and plan to use it a lot since it's something that the cats can't tip over and I've gathered some stray wheat stalks that escaped the harvest so I've been thinking of it, just have been too busy.
I can't wait for autumn and cooler crisp weather!!!

Posted - Sep 16 2013 : 07:51:06 AM I used to always have such a hard time with Fall. It just seemed like everything bad happened in the Fall. My husband left me and my two children then, we lost our farm then, and on and on. But now, it is my favorite time of year!! I just love it. I am really getting into it this year and am cleaning as well. I posted a Fall disaster story at the blog that you will probably chuckle over - and it includes a raccoon - plus I put up one of my recipes that we like going into the cooler weather. I hope it gives you a giggle. www.oklahomapastrycloth.com/blog

Posted - Sep 16 2013 : 06:09:40 AM Ready to go all out! Steamed all my carpets, polished all the furniture, washed all the throw rugs, so now I'm ready to pull out the fall stuff! Switched out my table linens, and pulled out my ghostie salt and pepper shakers. Wreaths, pumpkins, and more will come out today. Bought canned organic pumpkin yesterday and am baking my yummy pumpkin bread today!
Have you made anything pumpkin yet?

Posted - Sep 15 2013 : 6:48:43 PM Decorating is done, except for the cornstalks and some more pumpkins to carve. It is in the 60's here, and as low as 45 at night so I looks like and smells like fall. Cool crisp days. Changed my candle warmers yesterday. Fall..... Good luck to you as you put on your finishing touches for fall.
