Hi Sarah, I'll get in touch next time. I'm sure we'll be back at some point since my brother-in-law is there. Plus you guys have some great yarn/wool shops I really want to check out and didn't get a chance to. :)

Glad to know you gals in CO are okay. I was just down there. What a mess. I meant to catch up with you Sarah but figured you had stuff that needed doing from the looks of things. Hope your towns get all the help they need.

Another option for helping is through Samaritan's Purse. It is our charity of choice for all kinds of these situations in US and abroad.

Hi,

I know everyone has been asking how to help and the best way to help right now is by making donations through the Red Cross.

I also wanted to post this link here if anyone is willing to help. This website is to raise funds to help a friend of mine's mother who has been left homeless and jobless by the floods. Anything would help her at this point:

https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/gv33/nancy-farmer-s-jamestown-flood-fund?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=fb_share_stream.share&utm_campaign=dashboard_overview_T1&fb_ref=1386536

If you would prefer to not pay the $7 donation fee to donate to Nancy please send me an email. I am collecting checks that will be given to her directly. I also asked her daughter if she needed anything else. She said she needs everything, nothing survived the storm to speak of, so if you would like to make a non-monetary donation to her or any of the people she knows in the area, contact me and I can give you my mailing address - I can get anything you send to her.

Thanks!

Sarah

Heather,

So glad to hear you weathered the storm OK. Longmont was a real mess! I went and checked on a friend who lives at Sunset and 3rd and just couldn't believe the amount of water over there, and I know that wasn't even the worst of it. I hope your sister and boss are able to get back to a state of somewhat normalcy soon! If they need anything at all let me know.

And you are right, we WILL rebuild and we will get through this, one day at a time and we will be a stronger community because of it.

Glad to hear from you Heather! We've been watching the Denver news each night to get the current status of things. Of course, it's nothing like hearing from someone actually going through it.
Hang in there . . . farmgirl grit will sustain you!

We are in South Longmont and where cut off from the rest of the world for a while. The flood waters did not reach our doorstep but many of our neighbors are soggy. My sister in Boulder flooded, My Boss in Boulder flooded...all in all it was good to know we had good warning systems in place and good people who jumped in to help each other.
Rebuilding the roads and cleaning up the muck will take a lot of time. many of our Mountain communities are cut off or have 2 to 3 hour drives (used to be 45 minutes) to get to the flats.

We will survive!!!!We will rebuild!!!!

Thanks for all of your prayers and kind words. Colorado needs all of that that we can get. Today is supposed to be drier, though at my house in Longmont it is still raining and Boulder has another flood warning. Still it is looking like there is hope for things to start to dry out a little bit today!

Please Lord, keep our Colorado and New Mexico farmgirls and their families safe and sound. Lift them up high and dry. Help them to stay strong in the face of devastating floods happening in their area. These things I ask in Your name. Amen.

My town is a half a mile from the South Platte river. The river is over flowing but hasn't reached the town. The bridge has been closed to get into Greeley too. Some of the ditches east of town have flooded as well.

CDOT is slowly opening roads after carefully evaluating them.

Hoping others are safe as well.
