Out here in the southwest, in a dry climate we hardly ever wear rainboots. Typically the only time these kind of boots are worn are when we are irrigating.

Well, it's been very rainy here the last couple days . . . and there have been a couple other occasions where it would have been nice to have my rainboots. Well, like I said, we hardly ever need them so they were in the shed.

My daughter and I were on a 3-week glamping road trip this summer to the Pacific Northwest, which is a place WHERE rainboots are more likely to be worn. So, we took our "pink plaidies" with us, which was a good thing because we needed them.

When I took Robin back to her home in Phoenix, we were unloading her things from the van before I came home to Colorado, which included her rainboots, leaving mine in the van. Well, it didn't quite work out the way it was supposed to. I went to the shed to get mine this morning and this is what I found . . .

Alas and alack! I have TWO RIGHT BOOTS, one is size 9 and one is size 7. Robin has the other "pair" for the left foot and she lives 400 miles away.
Hmmmmm . . . I guess I'll wait until she comes up in a month to bring my left boot and trade it for hers.
Silly glamping farmgirls!!!

It is so heartbreaking to hear and see all the devastation! I'm grateful we are in a part of the state (SW Corner) that has not experienced this. We have had tremendous amounts of rain and more rain. It's a completely different story than earlier in the summer when Colorado was experiencing such hot, dry drought conditions and burning up.

I would have loved to have my boots this weekend . . . I'm grateful I still have a home and that my part of the state isn't going through this. PRAYING!!!!

CJ...now I am afraid that you need Rain Boats rather than Boots in Colorado. I keep seeing
all the horrific pictures on the news and have been praying for everyone in your
State. That is so awful. Funny Story for a situation gone very bad!!!

We bought these rainboots as part of costumes (and they were also functional) when Robin and I were "Farmgirls for the Cure" as crew members on an Avon Breast Cancer event in Santa Barbara, CA a few years ago. We had matching aprons from pink ribbon fabrics, etc. I have to tell you that we were a HIT!!!
But we're glad we have them for our glamping adventures because we've gotten rained on EVERY TIME we've gone glamping!
Makes for fun for sure!

CJ,
I guess maybe if you each had a different color or print then that would not have happen. But then again, it gives you a really nice story to tell around the holidays and such.

I was talking to her on the phone this morning when I made my discovery. I told her and she said . . . "Oh yeah, I discovered that a long time ago". She knew before I did! Guess she forgot to tell me. :D

Cute story!
