Well, ladies, we've reached a new phase in our life at my house, so I've had to update my signature line.

A few months ago, one of our very old goldfish, Sunshine, swam across the rainbow bridge. She was 11 years old. Not bad for a 25c feeder fish!

Then, sadly, last week, one of our pet rabbits, Faith, hopped over the rainbow bridge as well. He was 7 years old. He was the rabbit my DD has raised since the age of 12 weeks, and while he had gotten very ill, he still begged for dried fruit right up until he went to the vet's office. I praise God that He gave my teenager the grace to accept what was happening with her rabbit, and to make the tough choice we all face as pet owners. I know it's still not that easy on her (we are still waiting for permission from her to dismantle his cage that she and I built about 3 years ago), but she's been hanging in there.

Anyway, after posting a canning question today, I realized that I no longer have 2 geriatric goldfish and 2 bunnies, so I figured it was time to make the change.

So sorry, Ann, about the loss of your pets. They do take up residence in our hearts, don't they?

Ann,

My heart goes out to you. In the last few years/months, we have lost so many animals, including two geriatric kitties (one was twenty, one was fifteen), several fish, and prior to that, about five years ago we lost three dogs all within four months, to old age. It is so very hard. Big hugs to you and your sweet girl. I know your fish and that sweet bunny had wonderful, loved lives.

Farmgirl hugs,
Nicole

Ann,
I am sorry for the loss of pets that you family has gone through recently. Our pets are most definitely part of the family, and especially when there are children involved it is difficult.
Your goldfish and rabbit were definitely blessed to be a part of your family for so long.
Hugs to you,

~Laurie

Thanks, CJ!
We cried a lot of tears those last few days, but he was very VERY ill. Like he lost a whole pound in 2 months, and he only weighed 3 pounds to start with. He gave us a lot of joy to remember him by, and I'm sure that my mom is taking very good care of him up in Heaven.
