Wanted to share this picture I took of Violet after she got to dig for her first potatoes ever! The joy is evident.

I planted a garden with her when she was a month old, but since then, our neighbor's poison ivy ropes have taken over our beds so I won't go near them. We've been gardening in pots and burlap sacks and she thinks it's incredible! She told her daddy it was like finding buried treasure with the fairies

Just enough for supper on the grill....

Jonni,

I am sure you do...but please watch that sweet girl ever so closely. I guess you heard about the children that got bitten by snakes last week here in Kentucky. They are so curious when they are young and sometimes just don't watch so closely. Everyone please pray for the little children as they explore the beauty that God has surrounded us with during the Summer months.

Hugs!

Judy

Violet is a doll and such a beautiful name too. If you rented some goats you might be able to get rid of the poison ivy.

Time to start collecting rotting metal for art.
I remember working for Pam, & she would wander Main St on trash day & come back with all sorts of... stuff. When I was helping her organize her prop room, she had a whole section devoted to "Rust"
Which ultimately ended up in an awesome photo

Oh, Marybeth, even Violet would argue that little baby is toooo cute for words! What a sweet thing. I'll send her out in a few weeks. These long summer days have her fit to be tied. Last night, she was out in the front yard in a Cinderella dress and boots, and drug over what (I thought) was a large limb from the brush pile--nope, it was an entire exhaust system from the yard next door!!!! Seems like I can't do enough to keep her occupied :)

Oh Jonni what a cute farmgirl you have there. Our potatoes are growing fast but not ready for harvest yet. Send Violet out in another month. In the meantime look what we have in our potato patch.

Almost as cute as Violet but not quite. MB

Thanks, girls--she's really loving the garden and helping with watering and picking. She's developed a real love for flowers, too and wants fresh flowers in her room almost every day! Thank goodness I have vases galore!

How precious! She is adorable!!! My brother-in-law gave us a mess of his first potatoes yesterday. Will be fixing them tomorrow. Hopefully, I can also find me some fresh green beans at the produce place.

Hugs!

She is growing so fast, Jonni. So great to see the joy she has for learning so many new things. I love her comment about buried treaure and the fairies!

Jonni she sure is a cutie!!!
I have a grandaughter who is almost 11 months old. I am enjoying having a little girl around. I was the last girl born in my family and I am 50 years old. Thats a long time to wait for a little girl.Little girls are so special and glad you have such a sweetie to enjoy. Hugs to you both.

Jonni, Violet is such a cutie and growing up so bright! She's already seen the proof of potatoes in the ground ..not off a bush!

Thanks, girls! The potatoes turned out well this year--first time I've ever done them in sacks, but it makes sense now that I'm actually doing it.

She has so much fun outside and I'm crazy about that--she's girl and a farmgirl all at once. She'll dress up in a mermaid costume and go outside and play in the creekbed.

Emily Anna, my friend, Janice gave me that bowl--an old pottery company in Louisville. The color is just gorgeous and I use it for a ton of stuff (including, grabbing it quickly to put freshly dug potatoes in :))

She does at that, Nini--I don't know what I'd ever do without her. This child of my heart. Thanks :)

She's a laugh o' minute and she's got a wickedly cunning sense of humor. Very witty!

I can't either, Lisa--
She's such a treasure, truly. She really loved digging the potatoes. Justin asked if she'd "picked them all by herself?" and she said, "No, Daddy, we just DIGGED them. You don't pick them because they reeeeaaalllly deeep down in the mud!"

I can't believe how much she's grown. I remember when your were pregnant with her at Miss Wilma's gathering!
