Here is a story for my farmgirl Sisters that is almost unbelievable but it happened to me.

Sunday February 11th my Banks Fraud Officer called to tell me that my Credit/Debit Card had been hacked. As I checked my account there were at least 6 charges that were not ours, in CA and TX. There were charges to hotels, gift stores and Pro Flowers. So, they immediately cancelled my card and said it would be at least 10 days until the charges were removed from my account and 7 business days before I got my new Credit/Debit Card. I was so happy that my bank was watching out for us as they could have wiped us out as our Savings is attached to the card as well. They said they would call me if they needed anymore information, but I would not know who or where it was hacked at.

Now for the bestest part of this story, ready farmgirls?

On Friday the 15th UPS pulls up and hubby goes out to get the package, he comes back in the house with 2 huge boxes from Pro Flowers. Our Son is home visiting and they looked at each other with very weird faces and started laughing and started shaking their heads. I ask what was so funny and they said that they did not send the flowers, well who else would send me flowers for Valentines Day?

I opened the first box and there were 19 beautiful multi colored Tulips, the card read and I quote "I Love You" signed Deb Fischer. Ummm! I opened the 2nd box and it is 26 beautiful mulit color long stemmed roses, the card said and I quote "I Love You" signed a man's name which I of course can not write here as my case is still under investigation. Anyway, he used my card to order flowers for his loved one and of course the card was attached to my address as I order flowers from Pro Flowers so they all came to me. Poetic Justice Right?

Well, here is the best part the man has been in the Pelican Bay Prison in San Diego since 2004 on not very nice charges (do not want to get into what bad things he has done) he is 30 years old and is not due for parole until 2020. Well, he could be there a bit longer now, this is not a nice man believe me. So, I called my bank and gave them the information and they were very thankful as it is never this easy in fraud cases like this. So I have all these beautiful flowers from the man who hacked my card, very nice of him indeed. I did call Pro Flowers and they told me to keep the gift as I deserve it.

I just thought you would get a kick out of this farmgirl story girls as this never happens and is truly hard to believe but it has somewhat happy ending don't you think?
Have a beautiful weekend.
Hugs,
Debbie

as all have said it is horrid about the scamming/fraud..
in the cleveland, ohio, area right now the big thing is ATM's and gas stations getting hit by those things that can see your cards (words are failing me today!)

but gosh, debbie,,,you have such wonderful taste is you are going to order yourself flowers!

OOOh flowers! How nice. I hope that your card is safe from here on. And I hope they actually punish the criminal. the law doesn't usually take this stuff seriously. How nice that your bank caught it. Happy spring!

Debbie, that is awful that so many people have been getting hacked lately. The casino by us have had lots of people that had their card hacked after using them there. Good that you got some very beautiful flowers out of it and no bill to pay for them. Enjoy them while they last!!!

Debbie,

That is soooo funny! Not the card swiping of course, but that karma came and bit that guy right square in the butt! Looove it! And I am so glad that everything for you is being taken care of!

Enjoy your beautiful flowers, Debbie. You do deserve them! I hope he finds out that you are the one who received them! :)

That is probably what he did, I think where I made the mistake is his home and family is in San Diego.

very funny as for the flowers go, nothing else is funny, but fyi, Pelican Bay Prison is the oposite end of California, on the coast at the Orgeon border, and its odd that a prisoner is a max prison is able to use a computer that has internet access, its not supposed to be possible...

Nice story Debbie. My card was hacked last summer and i found it because I was looking online at my account and found a $500 charge from France. Well I had been doing some traveling but not France. Had to go through the whole cancel the card deal and I didn't even get flowers!
