Posted - Feb 12 2013 : 6:12:22 PM Shirley-will pray for moisture in some form to come your way. Jeannie- yes from sunny FLA you can certainly say that! Lol Deb, thanks for the well wishes. All is good here....it rained yesterday and was in the upper 40's so it's melting! Still a long way to go but the warmer temps are certainly a blessing. I just heard there may be more snow coming for us over the weekend. Sigh Hugs,

Posted - Feb 12 2013 : 5:58:24 PM I lived in Liverpool, NY for two years. My first experience with winter the snow covered my 1953 Chevy. It was a real trick getting out of the driveway and up on the hill to the Upstate Medical Center. I never saw so much snow except when I was a kid in 1947-48 in Nebraska and that was a blizzard to remember.

Posted - Feb 10 2013 : 12:17:29 PM We are doing good over here- Thank goodness the sun is shining bright. We are cleared out, but boy oh boy...the roads are a MESS! In my 47 years, I dont ever ever remember the MAIN roads being so bad. They have already cancelled school for tomorrow. That makes us all do the happy dance- nothin like a good snow day! Even the main artery which runs from Manhattan to Montauk- the infamous Long Island Expressway, is closed today! They are trying to clear it. It looks like a monopoly game with "cars" as the "pieces" just scattered everywhere! So many people had to abandon their cars, which of course didnt help with the plows trying to clear the roadways. This one will definately go down in the record books!

Posted - Feb 10 2013 : 07:12:50 AM Shoveling snow is very hard work, hopefully the snow ice cream helped though. When my boys made me my first chicken coop I had it way in the backyard away from the gate, and around the corner. Then as it was getting to be winter I said no way I'm shoveling a line to them from here, so I had the boys come back and move it again. lol I'm happy with it where it is now for this minute.

We had HORRENDOUS wind all day Friday and then snow all day yesterday! We didn't get 2 feet but we did get a good amount . . but it's more manageable. Hang in there! CJ

Posted - Feb 09 2013 : 6:15:42 PM Wow I wish i could see it in person just for a day or two. Do you make chocolate snow to eat? Did you have to shovel that path all by your self? Looks cold. But also pretty. Now how long will it stay there? I know to many questions but being from central Florida I am just curious.

Posted - Feb 09 2013 : 3:49:31 PM LOL Laura, snow shoes might not be such a bad idea! I dont remember this much snow here in a LONG time. I am thankful that this storm happened on the weekend, so that we dont need to go anywhere, and we were all home to pitch in on the shoveling! My town has declared a state of emergency, so no one is supposed to be on the roads. I am thankful that we did not loose power- as it is only in the teens now. BRRRRR. Hugs,

Posted - Feb 09 2013 : 1:52:13 PM WOW Laurie!! I'm north west of you up along the PA border and fortunately we only got about 6-7 inches so it wasn't to bad. I can't imagine how long that must have taken and can only hope you had some good strong male backs and arms to help you out
Hope everything else is well with you and you're surviving OK.
