I feel like most of you gals lately, down, slightly depressed and just no get up and go. I don't like this cloud over me and I can't figure out specifically what is causing it.
Lately there have been issues in my family that I feel bad about but I shouldn't dwell on them,(but it seems I do)
I worry way too much for my family!
Like Nicole says - I just needed to vent also. Great advise Nicole, now I hope this makes me feel better

I live in Texas and the weather is just too confusing right now. One day you have on a coat, the next day you can wear shorts! It has really got me down never knowing what the weather will look like. And all the weather changing has me keeping my 1yo in the house all the time! I can't wait for spring!

Sorry you are blue. I agree with Shanda. Get out some soft yarn and really big knitting needles and just start making something. I am hungering for Spring too so I think I will pretend to start seedlings even though it is way early. I will start a couple of little pots in the house and see what happens.

Whenever I start to feel cooped up, I look at my seed catalogs and gardening websites and wait for spring.

Joan, you're not alone. I think it is a very typical thing to happen to many this time of year. We're past the flurry and fun of the holidays, we're looking at all the "tax-time" issues, it's winter and for some that harder than for others. I also think that, whether we really realize it or not, just looking the coming of a new year can be an issue. For some it brings the newness, the promise, the hope . . for others it brings uncertainty and, probably certain fears.

Winter doesn't really bother me unless it's a "snowless" winter. I live in a farming community and we TOTALLY RELY on winter snowpack for our irrigation and domestic water supply. We been through so many drought years and, if we have a snowless winter, we KNOW without a doubt we'll be facing another drought year. When I look out at those beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains through my east kitchen window I WANT to see snow on them into June! I live in a high altitude, dry climate where we have more sunny days than not . . . so I get to see the sun most of the time. (Gotta remember that, even if it's bitter cold, still need to wear sunscreen!!) I enjoy the snow and try to not let the resulting mud get the best of me . . . and do we have mud!!!!

But, for me now, I'm probably more uneasy about all the tax stuff . . we just got our property tax notice in the mail and, of course, they went up. It's ALWAYS an issue of "how are we going to pay these". It's even more of an issue now since there is less income coming in. A lot of other current financial related issues add to it. Of course, there are the family issues that many of us are dealing with, including me. . . won't get into that right now!

I just pray about it all, try to be wise and discerning and stay focused on the positive! It's a good time for me clean out and reorganize my craft/sewing room and plan for this year's Farmers Market season. It's also a good time to try tackle needlework and papercrafting projects . . . and to stay in touch with my farmgirl friends.

So, I'm grateful for all of you farmgirl sisters and how we can encourage, bolster and hold each other up!
THANK YOU!
HUGS and BLESSINGS TO YOU ALL!
CJ

Joan :) Sorry to hear you are blue :( Crafting has been my salvation. I do the MJF swaps & I belong to an ATC site. I tend to get depressed in the winter & can tell when I need to forge ahead into my stash of crafting supplies. Try to stay busy & cast your worries to the One above :)

Hope you're feeling better soon. I recommend knitting/crocheting with some bright, happy spring colored yarn. That usually helps!

Joan I am with you although I haven't had it as bad as you all I would like to see Spring come. There has been too much going on in this world that isn't happy. We need some real sun and real warmth, not hot mind you, just warm and sunny. Balmy breezes and just wonderful days.
Have a good day today,
hugs

Joan, sorry you are feeling down. I'm in agreement with Siobhan, maybe you just need fresh air and sunshine!
