How many farmgirls read Mother Earth News? It was a real surprise to me. I thought it was mainly a "hippie" magazine, but there are so many knowledgeable articles in it. From what I can ascertain, there are two publications with that title. One is a keeper and the other is one to read and pass along to the next reader. I have read about planting raspberries, solar energy, pressure cookers, how to preserve fruits and veggies and also small plot gardening to name a few.

I also subscribe to a myriad of quilting magazines because I am an avid quilter. I just received one quilt back from my quilter and have another that will soon be going to her. They are gifts and I really enjoy creating them.

Does anyone have a preference to add to a list?

Does anyone like Hobby Farm? I was trying to get our library to subscribe to it, but they said it was too much like MJF.

Julie, I want to thank you for being a Magazine Junkie. I'm one too. The thanks helps keep the Post Office going. My son is a rural carrier and they have just cut his route. He now only gets one workday off every two weeks. It's wearing him down.

BTW, I am a fan of MaryJane's Farm magazine too. The only one I don't have a copy of is the first one.

I'm a magazine junkie!

My favs are Mary Jane's Farm; New Pioneer; Shape; Women's Health; Country Sampler; McCalls Quick Quilts; O; and any and all crochet ones.

I haven't read Mother Earth, but I want to get one now.

I am trying to be the person my dogs think I am.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Mother Earth News is a good magazine as is Grit.
I enjoy Countryside and Backwoods Home (especially Jackie Clay's articles)
