I was SO sad to hear yesterday that the Ben Franklin store in Cheney is closing (this week, I believe). It has been around for a long, long time and has even been a destination for us from Spokane Valley! It was a multi-generational store as my mom (89), daughter (16), and I (54) all found things of interest there. I will really miss their craft items and looking at their fabrics. But there was such a variety. So, SO sad...

Karin,
I was so sad, too. Their fabric and craft dept. was excellent because you could get real help there. Everything that was displayed was sewn by one of the gals who work in the dept. They were very helpful and I will miss them, too.

The big sale for closeout started Wednesday. They are selling to the bare walls. I thought about going, but didn't.

So sad to hear that. We had a Ben Franklin here when I was growing up, but it closed in the late 1990's I believe. I remember spending time w/my mom, looking at the craft and sewing section that was downstairs from the main floor. I also remember looking at the toy department while mom shopped for the "boring" stuff. When i was older, my friends and I would try on jewelry, makeup, perfume, etc. Great memories!

Welp, the good news is they are on Facebook. I guess you can order from there?? Think it was several months ago it showed up. I always liked them too.
