Hi Farmgirls, I havent been on here in months!! Started a new job, first time in 8 yrs. My "BABY" just started high school this year. Been sooooooooo busy trying to get my new business off the ground & before I knew it, summer was gone! I just picked up the magazine and it's terific as usual. I hope everyone is doing well. BRAMBLE, glad your back also! Honestly I havent done much farmgirl stuff this summer, even let my garden take care of itself. Havent had time to breathe, never even made it to Vermont yet. But... I have baked about 1,000 loaves of all natural breads like wheat, rye, rosemary, some white w/ honey, italian and french. Dozens of scones, muffins and biscuits. Then I found out I can't bake from home to sell UNLESS I have an extra room w/ prep tables. ovens & a sink. I live in a mobile home!! So, I rented a space and baked at night. Already health inspected and I just have to clean up. But, its nice to be back. Michele (westernhorse)

michele, welcome back, and boy have you been busy.
your breads sound wonderful, wish you were around the corner so i could buy some.
that is an amazing amount of bread to make, when did you sleep!
glad you are gettin to follow your dream and make some extra money, too

Hi Bramble, you gave me a great idea about the churches, THANK YOU. I didnt think of that at all. It's good for them also to get extra money. Wow, thank you. If this works I'll ship you every type of bread I make! sending you e-mail incase you dont read this.

Hi Michelle! So glad your time away gave you pleasure (and some income!) A lot of churches have amazing kitchens that get used very little these days. Maybe that would be a reasonable rent for you?
Nice to have you back! I hope your daughter's high school experience has been a good one so far! Keep us posted on all your endeavors(and your right...)by a certain age we ought to be allowed to do what we want, not always what we HAVE to! Good luck with the baking and everything else! I came to Englishtown in August, sorry I didn't know you were there!

Michele, I don't make it down that way very often but would try to make a special trip if you're going to be selling somewhere. Keep your chin up looking for a place . I'm sure you will find just the right place soon. You are right, at 55 you should be doing what you want!!

Hi Kelly, In the summer I was at Englishtown, Red Bank, Collingswood and Milleville. I'm probably done now until next spring but I may hit one or two for Christmas not sure because I just started a job in appitizing in Shop-rite. I wanted the bakery & applied for just that but they tricked me. If they don't give me bakery soon, I may quit. But Christmas is coming...... I had such a blast. It was ALOT of work but it was work I adore doing. I keep thinking at 55 yrs.old in December, that I should be able to finally do what I want!! It would be much easier if I could bake from home but I can't. I rented space in my sisters restaurant & baked at night when she was closed but they sold it so now I'll work on finding a space for next year. I'll do it just have to keep plugging away. Im just so sick & tired of working so hard for other people. I've had a small taste of working for myself and thats ALL I want now.

Michele, glad you're back!! Hope that you are having time to breathe now. How is the new baking area going? I'd love to know where you sell as I'm in Jersey too and if I can get there I'd love to sample your wares!!

Thanks girls, its nice to be back. I took my breads and loose teas to farm markets & flea markets. Got a resale license for the teas. I made up gift baskets also. Had a blast.

HEy Michele!! I missed you. Gosh that IS alot of baking..how neat!! I am so glad you have time to come back right now. You deserve a rest!! How did selling bread go??? Will you continue to do it????
