Posted - Jul 06 2012 : 9:33:57 PM This happened this morning...
Me: I think we have a low tire on the Navigator. Hubby: No, it's fine. Me: Well...okay....(nervously eyeballing the tire)
We went to breakfast and after walking out to the parking space, hubby looks at the tire... (you can see this coming, can't you??)
Hubby: That tire looks low, better get it fixed. Me: Yeah, better get it fixed....
What is it about men that they do this??

Posted - Jul 09 2012 : 08:53:15 AM I agree - I think they're all alike. Must be a man-trait. Mine does the same thing. Swears I never told him things!

Posted - Jul 09 2012 : 08:31:56 AM I usually am not so nice about it. I figure I've paid my dues and I WILL be listened to. If its naggin and war he wants well so be it. I sort of pick my battles though. If its something that costs money or is important I let him know in no uncertain terms but if it's a little thing then I just say a smart ellecky... ya don't say? I just feel if it's tolerated that it gets worse, and costly. And spreads to the rest of the family too. The worst being when it's something neglected that causes one of the horses to get sick or hurt. Of course a couple of $1000 vet bills have got his attention on that. No, everybody around here is held accountable including me. My kids call me tweety, cause if I see something like exposed nails or empty water tanks or chicken feed being left where the horses can get it they know I'll be nippin their hineys. Of course if something dies well no rubbin that in, that's bad enough by itself. Laura

Posted - Jul 08 2012 : 11:36:55 PM UGH!!! It makes me crazy!! My hubby does it all the time. Once, despite multiple times of telling him to change the oil in the car and multiple times of him saying he wound-the dagone care caught fire because it didn't have any oil in. I was single for 14 years and took care of myself and my car NEVER caught on fire! MEN!!! LOL

Posted - Jul 07 2012 : 06:56:14 AM My husband does that all the time. I would tell him some idea and he would tell me, "No, it won't work." Then later he would come to me and say, "So and so and I were talking and we think..." and it would be exactly what I told him but he would have no recollection of our earlier conversation. It use to upset me but after 33 years I just let it go. Actually, I now wait for it to happen!

Posted - Jul 07 2012 : 06:32:36 AM That reminds me of a conversation my mom & stepdad had Mom "This book I am reading says this biggest complaint women have about men is that they don't listen & the biggest complaint men have about women is that they try to change them. Dad: "I don't think you're trying to change me" Mom: "Obviously you weren't listening" I still laugh every time I thik about that one!! |

Posted - Jul 07 2012 : 05:13:48 AM Sounds familiar. Yep, men are like this. I think that if there mind is on one thing they cannot hear what someone is saying to them, especially the wife. My husband and I am sure other husbands do this quite often. You responded correctly.
