I put a new post up at the blog about my adventure with our little Ellie Dog. yesterday. She is a pill to say the least. She is not allowed to have any people food at all - just carrots, broccoli and fruit for snacks - and she is a typical dachshund, which means she wants people food. She has had two bouts of pancreatitis from finding a scrap and so we are REALLY careful what she gets. Well, yesterday she decided to find a chocolate cupcake. Ack!! Oh, and I included a recipe for a soup that we really like to make or can with garden goodies.

Elizabeth, our vet told us that dachshunds are the only dogs that will eat themselves to death!! Ellie knows that she is not to touch anything, but her little brain just can't register! She's like a kid in the middle of candy, scooping it in as fast as she can before she gets caught. :-)

Marianne, yes, you do!!

Our lab sometimes confuses, "drop it" with "swallow it ... fast!" too. You just got to love 'em though!

Oh my LOL ... I have two dachies of my own and although they know the command, "drop it" they don't always listen if it is something really good. LOL

Thank goodness pup was okay!
