Thought I would sort out the upstairs drawers today. Lots of sheets and pillowcases, etc etc. So posted a picture of a few of the embroidered ones.

beautiful! I brought some home from my mom's on our last visit. There were pillowcases and sheets and lots of dresser scarves and doilies that had been embroidered. I also made off, with her permission of course, with crocheted doilies and she gave me her wedding dress. Something I will always treasure.

O, a trouble's a ton or a trouble's an ounce,
Or a trouble is what you make it!
And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts,
But only--how did you take it?

Beautiful, and thank you for the inspiration. I think I am going to start some when I get home this evening.

yep, love the (older) cotton hand stitched pillowcases..... I even re-purposed one into a curtain for my little Scotty~trailer door window.

They are beautiful. It's wonderful that you have some from your grandmother, what a wonderful heirloom to cherish.

Beautiful!!! Did you make all of them? I need to get going on some embroidery, but too busy right now in the yard.
