Also--that is possibly the cutest rug ever!

This works really, really well. Here goes:

Chain 21.
Rnd 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook and in next 8 ch. 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in the next ch. Dc in next 8 ch. 6 dc in next ch. Working in the back of starting chain, dc in next 7 ch. 2 dc tog over next two ch, dc in next 6 ch. 4 dc in last ch, join with sl st to top of ch 2 (counts as beg dc).
Rnd 2: Ch 3, do not turn. Dc in same stitch, 2 dc in next dc. Dc in next 10 dc. 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in ch 1 space. Dc in next 10 dc. 2 dc in each of next 6 dc. Dc in next 6 dc, 3 dc tog over next 3 dc, dc in next 5 dc. 2 dc in next 4 dc, join with sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 3: (At this point you can change colors if you like.) Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in next 3 dc. Dc in next 12 dc. 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in ch 1 space. Dc in next 12 dc, 2 dc in next 12 dc. Dc in next 5 dc, 3 dc tog over next 3 dc, dc in next 4 dc. 2 dc in next 8 dc, join with sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, (dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in same st. Skip 3 dc. *(2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next st, skip 3 dc. Repeat from * 4 times, skip 2, work (2dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next stitch, skip 2, work (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in ch 1 space, skip 2, work (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next dc. *Skip 3, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next st. Repeat from * to 3 dc tog at center of heart. Ch 1, sc in 3 dc tog, ch 1, resume shell pattern for other side and join with sl st in top of ch 3. Fasten off.

Here is my miniaturized version made with worsted weight wool and a 5 mm hook. I think I will give it to Ric as a "get well soon" gift.

It looks like they worked four stitches in one in the middle of the starting chain to make the point, then decreased the same amount on the opposite side to make the dip. Huh. I am going to have to try that and see if it turns out like the photo. If it does, I will write it down and post it!

I love it. I have been thinking of changing some of our old sheets into rugs just hadn't really seen one I liked. That is adorable.

Hard to tell from the pic but it looks like a double crochet with 2 or 3 yarns together. Looks like it was stitched around itself but just can't figure out how they manipulated the center from pic. Maybe the added an extra chain stitch at the center. I will look through my patterns and see if I can find something similar.

I haven't figured out yet,,,but looks to be a 'triple crochet' stitch and ofcource the edging is a shell stitch... I need to find someone who is proficent in crochet to look at it and write down the pattern...

Dang, I was out to dinner w/Kpaints last nite,,,& I forgot to ask her if she can 'read' (translate) the stitch work for me!... faschnizzles!
It looks like it would stitch up pretty fast,,, and is measures about 30" x 22"....

My 'colors' are not Navy Blue,,, but maybe I will use it in one of my lil trailers...
