This morning I looked out the window to see my 15 yo dd running from the goat barn screaming. When she got to the house I found out that a bat had babies in that barn - two that they can see.

Later, I started taking the sheets down off our wall tent and I ran screaming - daddy long legs all over them! I had to call for "spider man" (my son) and have him take down the sheets. They were in every cranny. Phew!

I guess if the kids want to study critters, they are in the right place, ha ha ha ha!

I was watering the front flower beds with the hose today, and Cheddar (the newest barn cat) started chasing the water! I never saw such a thing. Hilarious!

One more to share...
In a conversation with my youngest dd about exercise and losing the extra "fluff" she said to me, "I wish it would just melt off like butter!" Ha ha ha ha!

Spiders and I don't get along very well.

A few years ago, the kids video taped me. My son was chasing me with a cup that had a very big hairy wolf spider in it. I had a broom to protect me and I was running for my life! Ha ha ha ha!

We have talked about bat houses too. We have the bats, and they need a house and they would eat the skeeters!!

I sure hope the go on their own, but my son is not afraid of them. If I can get supplies soon, he could move them for me. I'm not keen on them living in that barn. It's the one that will get torn down.

Kristina a bat house sounds like a great idea. Will they move there on their own or are you going to have to encourage them to vacate the barn? That wouldn't be my idea of fun!

Ha ha ha! I could just vision you with a nasty spider on a stick! So funny!

It looks like we may be building a bat house this summer. DD found 5 baby bats in the barn. It wasn't just the two that scared the pants off of her.

hahahah! tooo funny!
Speaking of spiders... my 6'1" 200lb hubby dearest,,, HATES! spiders... so, tho he doesn't do the 'girlie scream' he insists I be the 'spider terminator'! lol!
That being said, he finds it amusing to show me his latest snake friend/find!
Dang it, I hate it when he sneaks up behind me and calls out to me...w/a snake dangling from a stick! Hmmm, pay backs...I just might have to re-pay his 'mischief' with a spider on a stick! lol!

"I don't like spiders & snakes,,,that ain't what it takes,, to make me love you" (remember that song?)
