Posted - Jun 03 2012 : 2:15:46 PM I just came in from a HUGE auction with some silver pieces.
1. Reed & Barton (Italy)mark on an art deco comb holder (I believe you just slip a comb in the holder?) The comb is present and the mark is on the silver part of the holder. 2. Towle Sterling Silver mark on what looks like a small blusher brush (I think the bristles are sable) 3. Fingernail file that also reads Towle Sterling 4. A very HEAVY (boars bristle) brush also silver, but no markings that I can locate 5. A very HEAVY hand mirror also silver, but no no markings. The brush and the mirror have the very same silver pattern as the blusher brush.
Also, I found what appears to be a silver plate Art Deco cup with that reads "BABY" in an Art Deco kind of font the markings on that read within a crest shape... the letter J then a stamp of a Crown and then within a crest shape the letter G then below that RSPC in a block then the numbers #490. I did a little research online and I think maybe the BABY cup is silver plate? I went on-line but found nothing on the BABY cup....
Anyone out there know anything about silver plate markings or sterling silver?
Any info please let me know-Thank you ladies-![](icons/icon_smile_clown.gif)
